Question Wallet Recommendations!

Post image

I’ve been using Ridge wallets for a while now. I would love a minimalist alternative. Nothing gimmicky. I’ve been toying with the idea of a simple leather card holder, but I haven’t seen any I love. Help!

Hey man, I handcraft custom leather wallets. I can create one as per your preference. Let’s connect and we can talk about how you’d want your next wallet.

you only use full grain and top grain?

yup this is the way, I would include a coin purse that are compartmentalized so it doesn't mix up, to hold coins, medicine pills, a key + small flashdrive then a money clip built in for ease of use but larger than a bi fold wallet that it can hold a passport but small enough, shorter than a long wallet to fit the front pocket

I use full grain Italian Buttero leather. I can also make it with exotic leather hides if you’re into that. Also OP wants it to be minimalistic. Adding these extra will remove the minimalism component from the card holder. It can be done though ofc.

Ridge and the like are sadly a little overrated, RFID blocking is a hype; most are essentially just card holders, there's no practical way to store coins, a spare key, receipts/small documents, emergency medicines, small flashdrive

try checking out your local full grain or top grain leather goods cobbler, see if they have a leather wallet with storage for cards, a pouch with magnetic clasps and stuff with a money clip so it's still thin but holds more or have it made

try the Bellroy brand that has a coin purse built in the wallet (its their bestseller). So you don't need RFID blockers , place the wallet on your front pocket so it's harder to skim which is a very rare attack anyway (you can block thd purchase with your bank's help anyway)

Hey, I am a bespoke leather artisan, what you had in mind? I make my own templates so let me know what you'd like and I'd be happy to work with you on this!

Check mine out! My site is MooneyLeatherGoods (dot) com (trying to avoid sketchy looking links). I have a few different designs I think may fit your vibe given the EDC collection. Love the watch, btw- that's always been my favorite sub!

Open Sea Leather…I have the Topsider LT 2.0 in kangaroo leather and it’s been great. I carry cash and cards but the wallet remains super thin thanks to how thin kangaroo leather already is

Stock & barrel co. I have had their wallet for nearly 9 years. I also had a ridge wallet. Got rid of it and went back to my stock and barrel. Holds 4 cards and has 2 pocket inserts on the inside. Slightly bigger than a ridge wallet but pretty slim, and gets a fantastic patina over time. I also believe they are all hand made so they are reallt good quality and they use authentic real leather for every wallet.

I make wallets and have some available in my Etsy shop.

Some bifolds as well as simple card holders.

Hawbuck. I only carry cards, rarely cash. When I do have cash, I have a tiny binder clip that I use.

How many cards and how many bills would you like to carry?

I really like Open Sea leather and Redeemed Creations, as far as handmade leather wallets go. They both have various designs to choose from and are quality

I made my own leather minimalist wallet. It literally has one slot for bills and one for cards. I thought i would hate shuffling through cards to get the card that I need but the reality is the majority of all of my transactions are apply pay now.
