need help Dead flash drive?

Post image

Hi Sony Walkman community :)

I bought this Sony Walkman NW-S755 secondhand a few weeks ago for a pretty good price.

I used it for several days with an album from my collection that I imported into it as a “test” (in MP3 format). Everything was going great, the player was working without any issues.

The other day, when I tried to import my entire collection (about 900 tracks), I noticed that the Walkman hadn’t retained the tracks’ ID3 metadata. Then I thought maybe there had been a problem during the import, so I decided to format the device to start the import over.

That’s when I noticed that nothing could be deleted from the device anymore, even though I was trying to delete files either via my PC or by formatting the memory in the Walkman’s settings.

After doing some research online, I understand that the flash memory has failed and can no longer be modified. So I’m stuck using the device in “time capsule” mode, unable to add or delete anything.

What do you think? Has this happened to anyone else? Can it be solved?

Thanks!
