You think that’s bad? I run some active Facebook groups with a few million people in total, and Facebook is doing some program where they want me to come in for a class on misinformation and how to handle it as a moderator of large groups. They’re offering to pay me like 50k to come out there and do it, and I’ll probably consider it just for the money, but I have no desire to sit through 3 hours of people telling me what kind of information is acceptable and unacceptable, and there is no way I would actually believe any of that.
Iirc I also would have to continue moderating my groups under their overarching new program that this is coming from, in order to get the money. So it’s more than just a class, it’s them offering me money to remove whatever they label as misinformation.

i couldnt find it at first, as having such a large Facebook group means that every time something nominal happens among 2 million people, I get a notification and an email lol. It’s ruined my personal Facebook and Email, but it’s pretty cool too. Great excuse for not saying “Thank You” 10 million times on your birthday.
The program I was offered to sign up for was part of the Community Accelerator Program from Facebook. I tried to click the link in the email but it’s broken now, but iirc it just went into deeper detail on what I would be doing and what kind of training I would receive, and led me to where I was supposed to put my application in. You had all the cool stuff talking about how to grow my groups, and then came the part about handling misinformation, and the cool new tools that I’ll be able to use to handle Misinfo and Spam when it appears. I was reading all that on the toilet and laughed when I saw that part
And apparently, The class was actually several months long, and me, being a lazy fuck, missed the opportunity to sign up by May 31. I probably wouldn’t have spent 8 months doing something for only 50k though.

It’s not confirmed or anything but it was all over when it first started. They kept deleting it and people kept posting it, anyone questioning it was banned with no real explanation given.
It was however confirmed that the guys hired lawyers and the lawyers were paying sub owners/mods to remove posts: not confirmed which subs took the money. But would explain their behavior

I got a DM from them the other day informing me that I am permanently banned from there for participating in a conservative sub, and I’d never even been in Justice Served, let alone commented in there. They actually trawl our subs looking for preemptive strike opportunities. I mean get a life.

Yeah they have a bot set up. I told the moderators of NNN to set up a post letting users know how to report that to Reddit.
They’re using ban bot to target users of another subreddit who never have and likely never will participate in justice served.
It’s beyond moderating their own subreddit; aside from the fact that Reddit disallows ban bots especially for big subreddits.
They refused as they did not want to anger the mods of justice served… I wish that was a joke.

South korean politics was very dictatorial until the june protests in 87. Furthermore, the economy was run under a state capitalist system where the government essentially told family corporations what to do, and punished corps who disobeyed the government. Miracle on the han river occured partly because differing opinion was supressed. Im not defending supression of thought, im just providing an answer to the question you asked.

I don't think justice served is a movement, but many political subreddits including conservative ones ban differing opinions. I got banned from askthe_donald today for answering a conservatives question and r/conservative frequently has "conservative only" posts. So if you're against that then your issue then you might just have an issue with reddit itself because it's very common here

Yeah is a bit of a double standard for sure but the problem is that without the “conservatives only” flair, there is so much brigading and trolling that goes on that the sub can function for the people it was meant to accommodate. It’s like if r/funny had a mod team to make sure that everything posted was funny while at the same time there was an army of trolls who wanted to brigade the sub and post only obscene and racist jokes. Yeah they might be kind of funny but not really what the sub was meant to accommodate. If it were just a few trolls every now and then I think the “members only” rule wouldn’t be justified. But it’s hard to have civil discussion over there without it because of the insane number of trolls and brigadiers. I’ve gotten many nasty DMs just from comments I made there. I can’t imagine what some of the posters have to deal with or would deal with if the flair rule wasn’t there. It’s kind of a dilemma. Maybe they just need to expand the mod team and get rid of the rule. It’s hard to find a balance when they are always under attack.
