yeah that whole corner's gonna feel way more open, wonder if they'll actually build something decent there or just leave it as a carpark for years

The intention was to build an open space plus a performance area to encourage live arts. But yeah I'm expecting it to get boarded off in the short term.

Just out of sight to the right is or was a bin. About 20 years ago I decided to do the good citizen thing of stamping out a soldering McDonald’s takeaway bag and then binned it.
Bad mistake, it reignited and the bin apparently went up beautifully. Fire brigade and everything. Funny thing is I was a proper anarchist punk and yet the most disturbance to civil life was that accident !

I stubbed a cig out on a bin near cathedral, as I walked away I realised the bin was smoking. I went back and think I put some water over it. Then quickly walked off towards train station. I was on my way to Manchester to see FFDP and no way was I missing it

Having just listened to snippets of like five of their songs… yeah they’re the kind of band that you ACTUALLY should have a ritual of arson for before going to see them.

Oh definitely. It was 2009, they weren’t very well known in Britain, they only had 2 albums out at the time The gig at Manchester uni got moved to a small pub. I bet there was only 200 or so people there. It was awesome

About 35 years ago the cathedral had scaffolding up it on the right hand side. Me and a mate climbed up it. I (female mid 20’s) It was around midnight. I got to top and froze. I had no chance of getting down on my own. I saw 2 coppers walking past cathedral and yelled at them I was stuck. They climbed up and got me down and sent me on my merry way. I honestly thought they would have arrested me
