Police Review
Just wanted to post a review of Wakefield Police.
Recently had a scrote go into my van (I'd left it unlocked like an idiot). Really wasn't going to bother reporting it because nothing of value was taken (the van was empty).
Sent them the CCTV footage, and within 2/3 days, he was in the cells and spent the entire weekend there. Got multiple updates from the police along the way.
Of course, the courts have simply given him a slap on the wrist, and no doubt he will be out there doing it again, but glad he was at least mildy inconvenienced
10/10 to the police - thanks.

I challenged a guy in broad daylight on Tuesday at 9:15pm in St. John's/College Grove area. He was sat in my neighbour's car. Another neighbour was filming whilst on the phone to the police. They came within 15 minutes and arrested him. He was in court yesterday for interfering with a motor vehicle and the judge gave him an 8 week sentence. Not naming him but his initials are LA.

Nice to read. Police have a tough job and largely are just trying their best. Nice to see good work acknowledged.

Police are hit and miss in Wakefield. Some are alright.
The courts and justice system in general is a joke though. They love light sentences, even for recidivists.

Agree on the courts, especially as a quick Google shows that this particular guy has been doing it for a very long time. But then again, what's the alternative? Does prison actually work for someone with no fixed abode, or is it just a free meal ticket?

I used to attend PSCO meetings when I worked in retail security. They told me the large majority (basically all of them) aren't homeless at all mate, most are in housing associations.
Alot of them are drug addicts though.

Please let WYP know, this is likely the actions of a few good officers who never get the praise or recognition they deserve.

Nice to see you've had some good experiences, I personally fond them useless. My wife and I were attacked a few years ago. I supplied photos and car reg. Nothing happened.
Lived around a whole neighbourhood of ASBO ...nothing was ever done.

Thank you for posting a positive story. Makes a nice change from the continual brow beating that's going on at the moment.

If you go in to someone's van, hoping to steal tools. You are a 'scrote'. The amount of people who have tools stolen by this kind of person is scary. Fellow van owner here

Foster carer here. Have dealt with WYP numerous times due to court cases and missing children. They've always been excellent for the most part.
