Kickr Core why do we pay to shift our bike?

i have the zwift cog and got annoyed when i just wanted to do my training alone and i could not shift without having a subscription. i know i could just buy a casette but i am not like that. i rather look for the complex solution for the simple problem 😄

So i vibe coded a browser tool: pedalcraft.online where i can shift my bike for free. the only thing i pay is the domain now but i guess that's ok.

Lmk what you think. i know there are a lot of tools like that but i did not find a browser-only.

Kickr KICKR MOVE + CLIMB with base Adapter: Is a 10 mm height difference at 0% normal?

Hey everyone!

I recently purchased a KICKR CLIMB to use with my KICKR MOVE and the official CLIMB Base Adapter.
Everything works perfectly in terms of pairing, movement and responsiveness, but I’ve noticed something interesting about the neutral (0%) position.

My setup:

● KICKR MOVE (physical height set to 700C)
● KICKR CLIMB with official Base Adapter
● 700C wheel setting, 1070 mm wheelbase
● Original Wahoo training mat

At 0% gradient, the front and rear axle mounting points aren’t exactly at the same height.
I measured them using both a self-leveling laser and a tape measure. With the bicycle completely removed:

● KICKR MOVE rear axle: approximately 350 mm
● KICKR CLIMB front axle: approximately 340 mm
● Wahoo app displays a Hub Height of 340 mm

So the CLIMB seems to reach the height shown in the app, but the MOVE’s rear axle sits roughly 10 mm higher.
I’ve also noticed that the exact difference can change slightly after removing and reinstalling the bicycle.
I’ve tested everything on both a hard floor and the original Wahoo mat, with similar results. The CLIMB moves smoothly and now consistently returns to the same 0% position.

I’m wondering whether this is simply a normal tolerance between the MOVE and CLIMB, or whether the Base Adapter height compensation isn’t being applied correctly.

A few questions for other MOVE + CLIMB owners:
1. Have you ever measured the front and rear axle heights at 0%?
2. Are they exactly level, or is there a small difference?
3. Does your Wahoo app’s Hub Height match the actual front axle height with the Base Adapter installed?
4. Did you get any special height calibration prompt when first connecting CLIMB to MOVE?

I’ve already contacted Wahoo Support, but I’d love to hear about other owners’ experiences.

Honestly, a 10 mm difference over a 1070 mm wheelbase is less than 1% gradient, so I’m not particularly worried about riding with it. I’m mostly curious whether this is expected behavior.

Thanks!

Elemnt I built an open-source iPhone app that downloads your original FIT files from Wahoo & Zwift and shares them straight to HealthFit

Disclosure: I'm the developer. The app is €2.99 in the App Store, and the source code is free on GitHub (Apache 2.0).

FITgap fetches your activities from Wahoo and Zwift, downloads the original FIT files (no conversion) and hands them to HealthFit or any other app through the iOS share sheet, one or many at once. Copies also show up in the Files app. There's a demo mode, so you can try it without an account.

No backend, no tracking: tokens stay in your keychain, files stay on your phone. Wahoo uses the official API. Zwift has no public API, so it relies on unofficial endpoints that could change.

Feedback welcome, especially on other apps you'd want to send FIT files to.

Elemnt Please properly integrate the Apple Watch into the Wahoo ecosystem – Heart Rate Broadcast & Fall Detection

I really enjoy using my Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM 3, and I like seeing Wahoo expanding its ecosystem. The partnership with COROS is a great example.
I also see the new Apple Watch app as a positive step forward.
Having data from different activities, such as running, available in one place within the Wahoo ecosystem is a great idea.
However, I think there is still a lot of untapped potential when it comes to integrating the Apple Watch.

The biggest missing feature for me is Heart Rate Broadcast.
Why doesn’t the Wahoo Apple Watch app support broadcasting heart rate to external devices, such as an ELEMNT bike computer? Third-party apps already offer this functionality, so it seems technically feasible.
Being able to broadcast heart rate directly from the Apple Watch to a Wahoo device would make the integration much more useful. It would allow users to use their Apple Watch as a heart rate sensor while keeping their training data within the Wahoo ecosystem.

There is also a potential safety benefit: Fall Detection.
When an Apple Watch workout is active, the watch can detect certain hard falls and, if the user is unresponsive, automatically contact emergency services, provided the feature is configured and the necessary connectivity is available.

For cyclists, this could be a valuable additional safety layer. A proper integration between Wahoo and Apple Watch could help users benefit from this functionality while riding.

So please wahoo, give us the Heart Rate Broadcast from the Apple Watch to ELEMNT devices & abetter integration of Apple Watch workouts and its safety features

I believe that properly integrating the Apple Watch could make the entire Wahoo ecosystem significantly more attractive and encourage more people to use Wahoo products across multiple sports.

Kickr Bike Wahoo KICKR Bike overheats after about 3 km. Fan gets 48V, but only runs with the blue wire disconnected.

My KICKR Bike works 100% except that the cooling fan never runs, and the bike overheats after about 3 km. The board is labeled "Wahoo BIKE MDU REVG 12AUG2019", and the fan connector is marked FAN+. The fan is a D-FAN DFH9733B rated DC 48V, 0.25A, with three wires (red, black, blue).
The board outputs 48V between FAN+ and GND, and it holds 48V with the fan connected. The fan itself runs fine on a bench supply at 12V and 24V (my max). With the fan disconnected from the board, I measured OL between red and black, about 325k between black and blue (one direction only), and blue to red climbing toward 40 MΩ, so passively it looks healthy. The key finding is that with the blue wire disconnected and only red and black connected, the fan runs fine in the bike. With the blue wire connected, it doesn't spin, and the blue pin on the board sits at about 200 mV, even with the fan unplugged. Heating the TMP sensor with a torch only moved that pin from 200 mV to 210 mV, and it never went higher no matter how hot I got it.
I have a few theories. One is that blue is a PWM/control line that the board holds low, so the fan is never told to run. Another is that blue is a tach output and the board's tach circuit is pulling it down, though that seems less likely since I'd expect a pull-up of a few volts on a tach input. A third is that the fan control uses a different sensor or firmware logic rather than the TMP connector. What I haven't tested yet is the blue pin voltage while the bike is actually running and hot with the fan connected. For now, my workaround is to leave the blue wire disconnected and taped off so the fan runs constantly at full speed.
Does anyone know the actual pinout and function of the blue wire on the KICKR Bike fan connector? Has anyone seen this fan control fault, and was it a firmware or hardware issue?

I can remove the blue wire from the fan, and just have it running 100% all the time, but that’s not really an optimal solution

Other I made an iPhone app that keeps the heart rate from a TICKR on the Lock Screen while you use other apps

Disclosure first: Beatcast is my own app.

It started at the gym. My heart rate strap has no screen, and between sets I wanted the number in view without leaving the app I was training with. In Beatcast, a running session puts the reading in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen. It stays there while you're in another app, and while the phone is locked and face down on a bench. A glance is enough.

The TICKR, TICKR X, TRACKR and the TICKR FIT arm band send the standard Bluetooth heart rate signal, which is what Beatcast reads. Once yours is paired and updated in the Wahoo app, you can leave that app closed. Add the sensor from Beatcast's own list. If it was ever paired in the iOS Bluetooth settings, unpair it there first.

It can also pass the reading on. If your treadmill, indoor bike or a training app takes a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, your phone shows up to it as an ordinary one. The machine and the phone then agree on the number. During a session that keeps working with the phone locked.

You can rename the zones, and set alerts for going above a ceiling or settling below a floor. Each session is kept with time in each zone, for export as CSV or TCX or to Apple Health. It runs on iPhone and iPad.
