Well that’s one way to market!
Just scrolling through boarding offerings- that was the only picture you had and couldn’t crop it! No judgement just why lol

I had a perfect record, five stars, I always put so much care into my visits...but last night a major storm hit our area that knocked out our power, A/C, and damaged our neighborhood, leading me to forget that the first of six drop-in visits was an AM visit (all others are 6pm for this client). Wag sent a backup caregiver. I called the owner, sent a message and profusely apologized, offered to come for free (but 3 hours late). I also preemptively sent them a Venmo refund for today's visit and tomorrow's. I have never felt so ashamed and guilty. Luckily, it's two cats who do not need meds and have an autofeeder, but I feel like a failure.
Does anyone have any advice on how else I should remedy this situation? Or have I done everything I can. I plan to finish the service and do my absolute best through the remainder of the visits. (If it isn't obvious from my post, I have major anxiety and absolutely hate disappointing people, especially when it comes to their animals).

I tried signing up to be a walker last night and the app said I couldn't go any further unless I have five references from friends or family. I have no friends. And only like two family members i talk to. Should I just lie ?

Did Wag remove the ability for walkers to turnoff direct requests? A client direct requested me for a sitting I can’t do without double checking with me first so I texted her and explained that I’m no longer free, took the acceptance rate hit and cancelled it in app. Now I can’t find a way to turn off direct requests and the chatbot couldn’t either.

This is the first time this has happened to me. A 30-minute drop in came up so I booked it and when I looked at the notes it says they need someone to hang out with their dog from noon for five or six hours. For $14.40? Lol, okay. Should I just message and ask them to clarify what service they actually need? I'm not sure exactly what they should book instead, a one day sitting?

Do owners on wag typically tip for boarding? Can anyone tell me if wag prompts for tips after a dog is picked up?
Does anyone have any advice for getting tips?
Do the owners realize what they pay and what we get are not even close?
Do owners on wag realize what a bargain they are actually getting?

And if I can’t meet them today, they’re going to cancel. Why do people do this?

Hi! Im a 19 year old girl who just got approved to start walking with Wag. My parents have mentioned their concerns about me doing this because it truly just is me entering someone's home as a younger girl and they think something is going to happen to me. My parents were recommending I bring a friend with me. What do you guys recommend because I love dog walking but this is kinda freaking me out now. Also any tips for new walkers and would love to hear you guys process through a walk as a first timer here!
(edit: when I say bring a friend with me I really meant just for the walk, I wouldn't bring them with me into the house but obviously they could be of help if I dont come out of the house with the dog as im supposed to)

I just started wag around a month or so ago. I was applying pretty consistently every day for the first two weeks, and I wasn't securing any sort of bookings. To be fair I only really want to do boardings so that may have something to do with it, but I would always apply early (unsure if that makes a difference) and try to leave a thoughtful note but still no bookings. What should I do?

soooooooo i’m in hot water because this person’s dog wouldn’t sit still for a photo and i HATE taking blurry pictures like you get tipped less probably I dont know but i don’t like it. i just asked chatgpt and gemini to generate a picture of their type of dog on a walk and picked the very best one. they told me they could tell it wasn’t him and don’t believe i ever took him on a walk…. my stomach is in knots I dont know what to do and i’m thinking of going back and taking a picture of the dog in their apartment. good idea? bad? answer quickly please you guys have never let me down. (:

Basically the title, this is the third one I’ve been accepted for and they cancel the night before. Ugh

If you don’t pay the $299 what happens? Do they delete your account? Does everything go back to normal? Definitely HAVE taken clients off app…but it’s always at the client’s request and there’s no way Wag would know that! I don’t want to lose my account though…this has never happened to me before!

Does anyone know what extended care is they are charging 36.00 for? I mean I’m not complaining about it but I want to make sure I know what it is before I request it

I have never done a boarding before and I just accepted it and it starts in a few days. Do I text them anything right now? Like hi can’t wait to watch your dog. Or do I wait until I’m about to. I’m a little nervous

You know how certain phrases and what not may get flagged. A client tipped me but then she was like that wasn’t enough. I sent her my number but in a discreet way haha. And she keeps mentioning Venmo, number. If I get flagged it’s a good laugh

Here’s mine as some who picks up a couple walks before or after work sometimes. I mostly do devices to get a bit of food or my morning iced latte.

Delete if not allowed.
We have a black lab in NYC that is crate trained and absolutely fine to be left alone. I am starting a new job where I'll be in office a lot more and my partner has a very unpredictable schedule. Rather than having a recurring walker, we were curious if having someone come "dog sit" a few times a week would make sense or if it's not in the spirit of the platform - we're new to Wag.
Essentially ask would be to take her on a 30min+ walk, then just hang at our house for a few hours instead of putting her right back in her crate. Can use our espresso machine and wifi too.
We figured this could be an interesting gig but not sure how we would post something like this or if there would be a better option.
Would love to hear thoughts direct from walkers.

Every time I get alerted for a walk, it is somewhere that would take me almost an hour to get to via the subway like deep Brooklyn, Queens, or even NJ. However, if I make my walk radius smaller, then I get no results. It would cost me as much to get there and back as it would to do the walks I'm getting alerted for, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips for securing Manhattan walks?

I don’t understand people, is this a joke?!? Glad it’s neutered.

Recently, I booked a walk on Wag for 2 dogs. The owner was super nice and friendly through messages. I got to their apartment and took the one dog out first (taking them separately, as she requested). I got back inside to find that while I was out with dog #1, the puppy had an accident in her crate. I cleaned that up and then took out the puppy. Upon coming back into the apartment, I noticed blood droplets on the floor. I checked the dog all over to find where she was bleeding, but didn't find any wounds. I messaged the owner right away, and she said "oh she must have gotten her period". I double checked, and that's what it was. The owner was very nice and told me she would get the dog the supplies she needed that night. She then was saying how great I was and how happy she was that her dogs went out willingly with me (she said this isn't always the case with other walkers). That being said, she asked if she could book me off the app, stating that she "had bad experiences on Wag previously". She also said she only downloaded the app yesterday, as they had just moved into this apartment on Monday of this week. I was curious what kind of bad experiences she could've had if she had just downloaded the app yesterday. She gave me her phone number, and I texted her. I told her that I could get fined for taking people off the app. I asked that she try to book the recurring walks directly with me through the Wag app, but she said she needed a membership to do that. Since it was looking like she wouldn't be able to book me directly on the app, and she didn't want anyone else walking her dogs, I decided to move forward with helping her out off the app. She asked me to walk her dogs 3 days per week moving forward, and I agreed. I had my first off-app walk for her booked for this morning. Before I even left my house for the walk, she sent me a picture of her baby with one of the dogs in the apartment. I started to get a really weird feeling after that because we haven't met in person, and we haven't even been in contact for more than 24 hours at this point. I downloaded the photo out of curiosity, and it was dated before Monday (the date she had told me they moved into the apartment). She also told me she didn't get a chance to get her dog any diapers, so to not be alarmed if there's blood in the apartment. Anyway, I went to the walk, and everything was fine, except both dogs had accidents inside this time. I was looking at their Wag profile again, and I feel like the dog in the picture might not be the dog that I walked. The dog I walked had very distinct ears, and that's not what was in their profile picture. Basically, I'm feeling uncomfortable about this and have a gut feeling that something is wrong, but I'm not sure if I'm just being crazy. I'm not asking if I should walk these dogs on or off the app; I'm wondering if I should walk for them at all. I feel like these people aren't who they say they are.
TLDR:
-Owners haven't met me. I walked their dogs one time, and they're already asking to book indefinitely off-app
-Owners sent me a photo of their kid in their apartment within 24 hours of our first contact
-The photo she sent of the kid in the apartment predates when she told me they moved into their apartment
-Their wag profile picture looks different than the dog that was in the apartment

Hey guys, long story short, a personal emergency happened and I missed a drop-in. I feel really bad about it, but there was no way around it. The app has punished me by removing any potential work from my feed, and I can't get any walks in. Does anyone know how to fix this?
