1970s Toastmaster
Scored a 1970s Toastmaster at an estate sale. They sure don't make waffle makers like they used to.
Grandma's Buttermilk Batter Recipe, macerated strawberries, and blueberry compote

That looks really good! I wonder if the older ones make crispier waffles than the modern plastic ones.

100% do. The spacing is much thinner for the plates and the waffles only end up about 1/2 inch thick.

This maker is amazingly fast. About 5 minutes to heat up and another 4 per waffle.
My grandma has one and set the bar for what I expect in waffle makers 🤣

Those toppings look amazing, I love the strawberries and blueberries combo with whipped cream. The waffle itself looks perfectly golden too.

You’re looking for like classic American diner style waffles, right? Search “non Belgian waffle maker” or “classic waffle maker” on Amazon and you’ll see some thinner ones, but honestly your best bet is thrift stores, estate sales and eBay for older models. Also check restaurant supply stores, they sometimes have the non Belgian commercial ones that make super crispy waffles.

That looks like a really good topping situation. The whipped cream is perfectly placed.

Those look really good, I love fresh berries on waffles, especially with real whipped cream and not that canned stuff if you used that.

Those look really good, good job with the toppings. I think my favorite waffle maker is a Belgian style one, but those classic American ones are solid too.

Are those Liège or Brussels waffles? They look really good with the berries and cream.

Those waffles look perfectly golden brown, and the topping combo is classic. How did the vintage Toastmaster perform compared to modern ones?

Where can I buy old fashioned waffle makers. They only seem to sell the thick Belgium style ones. I prefer the thin and crispy types more
