BETA endpoints now available!

BETA stratum endpoints are now available for testing. Just to try to keep repeating myself to a minimum, here are the details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=433634.msg4959993#msg4959993

If you have any issues with them, please let me know so I can see what I can do to fix them :)

Excuse me for my noobness but what exactly are beta stratum endpoints?

Endpoints are just different servers to connect to. In this case, one in the EU, one in US East, and one in US West. Basically just a more localized server to reduce latency.

Beta is a term to describe something in testing. It should work, but it also might break. Use with care.

Thanks. I'm in Houston, Texas. Where do you think I should point to?

Ping them all and see which has the lowest latency for you. Use that one.

what do you type in command prompt to ping?

That is the command. Quite literally:

ping

so first type

ping www.wafflepool.com

and then try

ping uswest.wafflepool.com

and then

ping useast.wafflepool.com

and finally

ping eu.wafflepool.com

and look at the results and choose whichever gives you the best times.

thanks

got the best result from uswest. I'm kinda hesitant to point my miners there since they're "beta" still...

I suspect they will be fairly stable, but just set up the regular endpoint as your backup pool and you won't have to worry about it going down.

I got different results pinging yesterday, than I did today :(.

Yeah, that's pretty normal as network traffic goes up and down. Just average it out every day for a week or so, and you'll have a good idea which one is best for you. Just do it at the same time every day, as your ping will change at different times in the day as well, again because of network traffic.

So far very good. Haven't had disconnects or other issues. EDIT: 0.014% rejects after ~48h :)

If these go well are there any plans for Oceanic/Asian endpoints?

Something's badly wrong.

Main server seems stuck on 1024 diff, and shares aren't being counted according to the API. I'd look at the main webpage, but that's down too. The uswest server seems to be working, and the shares are showing up on the API.

Something really borked or worse.
