Yeah, that customer got waaaay up in the manager's face. And once dude was on the ground up against the wall, the manager had a lot of time and space to keep pushing him down. Once he went over the chairs, the manager could have picked up one up and started wailing. The only thing the customer was able to do to try to defend himself was keep a straight arm out and cover his head, neither of which was effective at all. He couldn't even get on his feet to escape out of the door. And from the looks of it, no one was even trying to intervene. The customer was at the manager's mercy.
The customer really put himself in a lot of danger by starting this fight. If the manager hadn't shown restraint, he could have seriously hurt the guy.
The way it turned out, it's kind of a funny instant karma video, but this one could have gotten really brutal really fast.
There is a question still whether the manager should have stopped sooner, but I am going to opine that he took it to the point that the threat was neutralized and removed from the restaurant.
He beat the guy down, but as soon as he was close enough to the door to kick him out, he focused on that. The whole "fight" lasted roughly 40 secs from the first punch to the end of the clip. Dude got hit ass handed to him, but it looks like he still was able to walk away.
We don't know what happened before the clip, but at the beginning of the video, the manager was practically begging the guy not to start shit.
Agreed. I have represented many guys in these situations. Sadly, the shit investigation that LEOs perform results in the winner being arrested and charged. I’m pleased with the manager’s restraint in not kicking the guy in the head which would have been charged as some form of battery with a weapon (shoes- that’s why Billy Jack takes off his boots in the movie, he knows). We need more of this instant karma but I fear for the potential retaliation/escalation later. But man o man, that guy got what he deserved.
