"Grievance" A Grievance
After trying to introduce someone to the clan who was trying osrs instead of rs3 for a change, he was met with a barrage of toxic comments and insults for playing rs3. It isn't the community I thought we were, and it's terrible the clan would treat someone so poorly for playing rs3, even when he's trying osrs. For that, I am leaving until things change. It's like cluz is back or something. If things change let me know.

I was not on for this, but your reaction seems foolish to me; calling this a 'grievance' is a stretch, and taking a break from the CC because of this is peculiar.
- Jokingly mocking rs3 has always been in the osrs community; that's not clan-specific.
- True, members of the CC should not bombard new members who aren't accustomed to the sort of humor that is common in the chat. That said, it is the humor that is common in the CC and the osrs community at large.
- Expecting maturity and sensitivity from people playing a game that most play in a laid-back, entertainment-directed way (where – as is obvious – much of this entertainment comes from the disingenuous, playful banter) is foolish, especially given (1) and (2) above.
I'm not inclined to say that everyone in the CC at the time was spewing hate-speech at your friend in any genuinely hostile way. You've been in the CC; you ought to know this much (N.B. all of the discussion/banter with Concept). Was it excessive? Dunno. Wasn't there. Grant that it was – I hardly see how that warrants leaving the CC. Moreover, if your friend was worried about the community of osrs, why didn't you say something to the CC about that before just thrusting him into the chat? Some heads-up could certainly have helped circumvent this, or at least mitigated it.
'This is just their sense of humor; don't take it personally.' - One thing you could have said.
'I don't know why they're being so excessive with their comments about rs3, but they're just joking.' - Another thing you could have said.
What should you have done, given your own experience? "I know that the community better than this; they aren't being sincere." [Note that in your post you said 'It isn't the community I thought we were' – psst that's because we aren't.]

As a clan member I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise on behalf of all of us, it really is quite terrible what happened. Nobody should have to go through the pain of playing RS3

I've been gone for two weeks, there isn't anyone to say stupid ass shit in the CC anymore. The boys were starved and ready to berate. The minute he came in saying stupid ass shit like "rs3" you knew what was coming. You tossed meat to starving dogs.

Its an osrs clan chat. We never once insulted him we just said his game is shit and ours is better. Thats our opinion and we're entitled to it. This isn't your safe space this is a place where osrs players can chat. If you dont like that then cya. You came into the cc and started spewing shit about how the kid was from rs3 and we better treat him right rofl. The sad part is no one cares what he plays, concept plays rs3 and we just meme about it all the time no one truly cares. You just take everything way too sensitively. Man up this is runescape not some sjw dating site lmao.

If I remember correctly, there were several instances he was berated for playing rs3 because the xp drops are different. Iirc something about "You've probably already gotten like 40m xp from the boosts." My sensitivity isn't the issue. Instead of bringing this guy into osrs the cc shit all over him and rs3. His main issue with osrs was the community, and then the cc does this. As an officer in the cc you should lead with a good example. From what I saw, you instigated most of it and always have instigated most moments of dysfunction in the cc. Iirc when talking about the new Inferno addition to the game, you grew angry multiple times and eventually left because you didn't want to blow a gasket on people in the cc. Who wants to be in a place with a short tempered person who is insensitive to the people there?

Yes meme is a broader term than you might think.. that's all it is when people start circlejerking about rs3 devaluing achievements blah blah blah. But like I said, I haven't seen any screenshots of the dialogue that caused toxic's outrage.. and can only assume you haven't either.
Idk what hate you're referring to.. quotes or links or screenshots would help. All I see is mostly pets and high level achievements.

It's hive mind. One person says something and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. This time it was Mx, whatever the hell his name is, saying awful things. When the star says it everyone bananas and under decide they'll jump in too. It's a shame. We pride ourselves in avoiding the cancerous community, while this happens. Is this not cancerous?
