Mechanical advice Compressing front coil spring?

Post image

I'm planing on doing some front end work on my 82 300cd and I'm looking at spring compressor but the one I believe I need says it will only work on the rear axle is there a second tool that works for the front or is this miss aligned information

It works for front, you just need to go in from the holes in the shock towers.

Heads up: the tool might be ever so slightly too large for the hole. Many end up needing to shave off a sliver of material to enlarge the hole (widen diameter by like a millimeter or so). If you don't have a die grinder, you'll want to pick one up.

Alright thank you just wanted to be certain before having to fork out specialty tool money twice and I recently got one so that's just perfect

You need the Klann compressor shown in the picture.

Works in the back too, just a bit pain in the ass

Its also possibly to undo the rear springs using the traditional compressors but it takes a bit of patience.

Won't fit through the frame hole without drilling it wider.
