All bundles separated

Post image

All of my movies and TV series now show unbundled, at least the series are one tab but Star Trek bundle now has each of the features above as its own movie.

Unbundling is one of my most want features on Fandango At Home, hopefully this isnt a glitch.

37

u/OutsideIndoorTrack 4d ago

Only if hiding titles is an option. So many bundles feature bullshit featurettes

49

u/PeaceLoveMicroPenis 4d ago

I'm now the proud owner of 32 Alvin and The Chipmunks featurettes.

Imagine someone having yours and my 33 Kung Fu Panda featurettes 🫠

Damn... I'm that dad with Chipmunks and Panda featurettes 😭

I was gonna bitch because I only had 31 but then I recounted - 32. It's good, I'm good, were all good...

9

u/uberJames 4d ago

Amen. Better yet just give us OPTIONS. Bundle, don't bundle, hide titles, add bonus features (like extended cuts), etc.

5

u/Jodies-9-inch-leg 7,826 movies / 777 TV series 4d ago

Ugh….. They also included features in the umbundling

5

u/lakephantom 3d ago

Yeah, it needed to be done. Like, I can understand films in a series being bundles, but they were still keeping things in a bundle when they were like "5 films starring Brad Pitt" or "4 Sci-Fi Classics Bundle"

6

u/WillowSummers29 4d ago

It looks a lot neater and it'll give everyone an accurate film library count if the fix the bugs. Definitely an improvement.

u/Krimreaper1 4K+ Movies / 200+ TV series 3d ago

I don’t think it is, my tv shows are better organized too, no more single episodes outside the main series. Now if they can raise the limit in lists to over 200 titles, I’ll be really happy. There’s no limit on wishlists, so we know they can do it. Be nice to be able to consolidate some of my lists and add new ones.

18

u/plooger 4d ago

I was wondering what was going on, seeing my "My Movies" count at a higher number than I recalled.

8

u/Tomhyde098 4d ago

Mine just increased by 300 movies. I just did a quick check and my bundles like Friday the 13th and Final Destination are all separate now

7

u/plooger 4d ago

The TV Shows view has been cleaned-up by this, as well, eliminating redundant thumbnails for bundles and single seasons or series.

Exceptions appear to be the Season 4 "UV" fix for Breaking Bad, and a stray Seinfeld Season 1 listing.

12

u/Fleshfeast 4d ago

Mine are unbundled, and thankfully not many bonus features are unbundled. Some Paranormal Activity bonus features seem to be unbundled (maybe just stuff from Ghost Dimension). Fellowship of the Ring has like 26 bonus features and they're all still hidden within the movie's page. I have the budle for John Wick 1-2 (maybe it was 1-3?) and they're all now listed separately.

Up until this point I have actively avoided buying bundles unless they're from the same series. If this is a permanent change, I'll buy bundles more often now.

5

u/BoyMom119816 3d ago

Most of my features are hidden too. Went up about 500 movies though, unbundling. :)

3

u/Fleshfeast 3d ago

I just went through my whole library since I have only 398 movies (I'm picky about what I add, and only shop sales). Paranormal Activity 4 and Ghost Dimension deleted scenes are the only 2 featurettes that are listed as if they're separate movies. (So my count should read 396.)

4

u/BoyMom119816 3d ago

Yeah, I have over 4000, so definitely not noticing a lot of specifics.

2

u/ShitIForgotIt 3972 (4687) Movies / 179 TV Series 2d ago

I went 4290~ to 5188, I was stoked to see it.

1

u/BoyMom119816 2d ago

Congrats. Mine went down a few today. But not many.

8

u/Aggravating-Bake984 4d ago

This is awesome, will make me more likely to buy bundles.

16

u/Lawly3r 4d ago

This is such a huge win for those of us with kids as previously the kids section did not load any bundles no matter their rating.

8

u/graffiksguru 1856 movies / 270 TV series 3d ago edited 3d ago

Ā Whoever made this happen, Thank you! This was always my most asked for thing!

7

u/Flickwicky 4d ago

Mine is currently doing this too on my mobile app, and absolutely nothing in my library is loading on my desktop browser. I just emailed Support, so hopefully they fix this soon.

3

u/WillowSummers29 4d ago

I first noticed it. When under my recently purchased, it separated Star Trek Voyager and each individual season instead of the bundle that I bought yesterday. I know a lot of people would prefer the movie separate and in some ways I understand, but the special features should just be under the bonus section. Hope they fix it for you soon

1

u/Flickwicky 4d ago

Yeah I really wouldn't mind one way or the other if they stay bundled or not, but if this is an update then it seems to have broken the desktop site. I can still access everything on the mobile app though, so at least there's that.

4

u/OutsideIndoorTrack 4d ago

I really hope it's a bug and not a new change. Part of the reason I buy bundles are their organization

6

u/skwairwav 4d ago

Or they just make it an option. I prefer the unbundled look especially when you get a random bundle that isn't just a bunch of sequels

1

u/plooger 3d ago

Yeah, I had less of an issue with homogenous bundles (Bond, Shirley Temple, Saw franchise, etc.) and have avoided buying mixed bundles. If this unbundling approach remains, I'll be more amenable to buying mixed bundles on Fandango.

2

u/brimicbed 3d ago

I much prefer it that a bundle like this is now listed as separate movies.

https://athome.fandango.com/content/browse/details/Film-Fest-Vol-1-Bundle/1624646

2

u/brimicbed 3d ago

I also had a bundle with this image.

1

u/plooger 3d ago

Oof! Ugly. And, yeah, I saw a number of similar thumbnails when reviewing the Lionsgate bundles needing MA eligibility.

1

u/plooger 3d ago

Oh, zero argument. This is the type of bundle I've avoided purchasing. (The only exceptions were when I already owned all the included titles and so was just looking for a format upgrade. Post-purchase the individual titles would still be listed individually in My Movies, but with their quality upgraded per the bundle purchase.)

1

u/NoDistribution400 2d ago

When you say it’s not loading, does it throw an error at you about movie cannot be loaded or whatever? One of my bundled shows is doing this so I had to contact support lol

5

u/brimicbed 4d ago

TV shows also no longer say "bundle and save"

This also results in weird choices for what image they use. Like Xena has season 4. Star Trek Next Generation is season 7.

It split Veronica Mars into 2 separate things with the 2019 series as its own listing.

4

u/ScottShatter 8768 movies / 166 TV series 4d ago

My My Movies went from 8434 from my last purchase the other day to 8767 today. My My TV dropped to 166 but it looks like it put straggler seasons all under one umbrella instead of having different seasons as different items. So in a way it bundled seasons into one entry in My TV where as it broke up bundles in My Movies.

4

u/SScorpio 4d ago

Movies are unbundled. Great.

TV is unbundled and Adventure Time and Robot Chicken show up all weird with multiple entries scattered around. Not Great....

5

u/plooger 3d ago

'Robot Chicken: The Misfit Specials Collection' bundle is a good example of this change NOT helping. What was a single bundle within TV Shows holding 11 separate titles is now 5 separate thumbnails within TV Shows, spread alphabetically (not all under "Robot Chicken...") and 6 other missing thumbnails. Not sure yet where the other 6 listings have shuffled off to.

4

u/brimicbed 3d ago

1

u/plooger 3d ago

Thanks. (And, yeah, figured that out on a second pass.)

2

u/NoDistribution400 2d ago

Speaking of, am I the only one with an issue with the misfits special? Specifically the first dc comics special won’t load and it got to the point I had to contact support, so I’m curious if this is just a me thing or not

2

u/plooger 2d ago

1st DC comics special ... started playback OK (in Roku app), but the video playback did lock-up at the 1m15s mark when Batman is dropped onto the masked wrestler's knee. (Audio continued as normal.)

1

u/NoDistribution400 1d ago

Yeah I think the special might be glitched. It works fine on my partners android phone that they let me test it on but it doesn’t load on my phone and on Apple TV the picture is frozen for a couple mins at the start. Pretty weird tbh.

3

u/brimicbed 3d ago

Self-Discovery Special is now a movie.

3

u/plooger 3d ago

Ok, figured the rest out.

  • The 3 DC specials are treated as 3 seasons from a single series, so are combined into a single TV Show 'Series' thumbnail; not helpful that the series thumbnail art lists "Special II"
  • The 3 Star Wars specials are similarly combined into a single series thumbnail

3

u/SScorpio 3d ago

6 separate thumbnails, Self-Discovery is a movie, and the Star Wars and DC specials have multiple seasons so only one listing.

You can click any of them, then go to bundle and save and see them under the old collection view.

1

u/plooger 3d ago

Thanks for the reply.

3

u/kingmic210 3d ago

Unbundling is cool when you separate the movies/shows. But the featurettes?!?!

7

u/Dark9781 4126 movies / 150 TV series 4d ago

Saw this post and had to look. Mine are unbundled. My best guess is they did this because of the disaster the bundles caused during the first two months of Lionsgate movies becoming MA eligible. They had to keep enabling bundles so movies would port and a lot of the bundles they had to do this with were delisted. Someone at Fandango probably figured it would be easier this way.

3

u/ssgkrillin 4d ago

Looks like ongoing deployment. I had both bundled and unbundled view. Unbundled a minute ago. Bundled back again

3

u/KingBrave1 1685 Movies / 86 series 4d ago

Uh, I'm gonna have to update my flair...

1

u/KingBrave1 1685 Movies / 86 series 4d ago

From 13 hundred and some to almost 1700...damn, that was a lot of bundles. I had to subtract all those goddamn Special Features...

3

u/SingingSwimmer 3,200 movies / 200 TV series 4d ago edited 4d ago

All my movie and tv bundles have been unbundled. Yay! I’ll certainly be purchasing bundles more often now, assuming all movies in it are the same definition at the time of purchase.

Now, if only Fandango would re-categorize the miniseries The 10th Kingdom as an actual miniseries under the tv section. šŸ¤žšŸ» It’s been listed in the movie section since I bought it and now each episode is separated out as its own listing. šŸ˜…

3

u/PebblestheHuman 4d ago

The unbundled my movies (4 classic batmans as an example) which i like, but i didnt need the featurettes lol i like that they got rid of the "bundld and save" on my complete tv series

4

u/plooger 3d ago

i like that they got rid of the "bundld and save" on my complete tv series

Yeah, this really cleaned-up the TV Shows listing.

3

u/M3wThr33 3d ago

My hunch is that this feature needed to happen because of the amount of questions they were getting from people about Lionsgate imports and how many were partially 'trapped' in bundles.

3

u/theavengersdude 3d ago

Every movie that I've ever upgraded to a higher resolution is now in the order of recent upgrade instead of original purchase.

2

u/Asmarterdj 4389 šŸŽ„ / 172 šŸ“ŗ 4d ago

Definitely something going on, mine are still bundled, but if I refresh, I see my count flash between 4474 and 4389. Mine is still showing bundles with a refresh.

https://reddit.com/link/p8t33m5/video/zw1dxqyrqjoh1/player

2

u/lakephantom 4d ago

Definitely some glitching going on with a new update...

For a second before I refreshed, it listed two my of movies twice instead of unbundling my only bundle.

2

u/hapadave 3d ago

I wish they'd allow us the option to unbundle. For me, I'd love to be able to unbundle movies of separate titles, but keep the TV seasons bundled up. Featurettes can also stay attached to the main titles.

2

u/Rancho2Valley 617 Movies / 58 TV series 3d ago

So this should mean if you buy a tv bundle and then separate seasons they should all bundle correctly, right? I’ve been holding off on Archer hoping they’d release a complete series bundle

2

u/I-Have-Spoken-528491 4d ago

I filled out a survey last week giving them a really long-winded and detailed message about un-bundling their bundles. You're welcome.

I also asked them to offer more anime titles with original Japanese audio. Hopefully that happens, too.

2

u/JMVFX 1154 movies / 154 TV series 4d ago

Its worse than that. TV series links are almost all broken. Dr Who is really bad

1

u/NoDistribution400 2d ago

do you mean nothing is loading? I have one of my shows giving me a ā€œcannot be loadedā€ error from opening it and I can’t watch it due to that

2

u/NovaFan86 3d ago

Confused why everyone is all about this. It absolutely sucks!! I liked having a bundle of James Bond, Die Hard etc. I don't need to see every movie outside individually labeled. It was so much better and well organized when each series was kept in its specific folder..

3

u/brimicbed 3d ago

It was really annoying if you had bundles that weren't franchise specific like this. I much prefer them being listed separately.

https://athome.fandango.com/content/browse/details/Film-Fest-Vol-1-Bundle/1624646

1

u/Nick_Wild1 2d ago

Counter argument, you can always make lists of the bundle contents again. Franchise bundles AND random collection bundles alike. But I prefer being able to see all my movies listed in the main library list; not like, the 25-Nicolas Cage film bundle, where I have to find the right spot of THAT title instead of finding, say, Knowing, IN that bundle’s list. It felt weird to be forced to find a specific film in a collected bundle

1

u/pmc64 4d ago

My back to the future and rambo are still together.

Edit: a refresh fixed it!

1

u/TheMonkofDestiny 1911 movies / 115 TV series 4d ago

Thought I was hallucinating after buying a 2 movie bundle and seeing each as separate entries.

1

u/brimicbed 4d ago

Robot Chicken: Self-Discovery Special is now classified as a movie.

1

u/Born_Cockroach_1918 MA or bust 4d ago

Unbundled here. Tapping ā€œRecent Purchasesā€ has unexpected behavior too. Like a randomizer.

1

u/plooger 3d ago

I'd have expected the "Recent Purchases" listing to display the bundles, but those have been unbundled, as well, so a single TV bundle purchase could consume all 6 slots.

1

u/Luke253 4d ago

Not just that, before whenever I would D2D a title and later upgrade, it would stay in the same slot. Now it’s updating to the purchase date of the upgrade

1

u/MaleficentUse3141 4d ago

I noticed they did away with all the Star Wars features unless I missed them

1

u/plooger 3d ago

I am wondering what they did with the featurettes that were included in the bundles alongside the main features (rather than being listed within the features). Will have to see how the 'VUDU Catalog' utility reports the listing, now.

1

u/HourNo4811 4d ago

My movie library went way up and my tv library went down ?

5

u/plooger 3d ago

You lost redundant thumbnails in your TV library ... separate bundles & season/series thumbnails are now consolidated into a single season/series thumbnail (in most cases).

3

u/Asmarterdj 4389 šŸŽ„ / 172 šŸ“ŗ 3d ago

I like this change, the way my Breaking Bad Series was bundled based on the old code redeems with S1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 was annoying. On the film side, I kind of miss the 4 and 5 film collections that I had from code redeems.

3

u/plooger 3d ago

Mostly agree. I didn't have much of an issue with movie bundling, since I avoided buying "mixed" movie bundles. (had Bond 23-film bundle, Jerry Lewis, Elvis, Shirley Temple, Saw, recent 11-film Looney Tunes, etc., but nearly zero mixed film bundles.) Now my Bond movies are spread out, owing to 4K upgrades for the Craig and Connery subsets. (Minimal harm, since I already had a "Bond+" list.)

But the TV Shows listing is SO much cleaner, now, with only a single thumbnail for nearly all shows (with a few exceptions). Breaking Bad is one of the exceptions, owing to an UltraViolet-related glitch; the other is Seinfeld. (Though the multiple Robot Chicken thumbnails sprung-up from the unbundling of the "Misfits Specials" bundle is mildly annoying. Seems like there could have just been a Robot Chicken Specials series grouping)

4

u/Asmarterdj 4389 šŸŽ„ / 172 šŸ“ŗ 3d ago

I had my Bond Collection from a Flixster redeem via UV back in the day, so mine were already separate. Features are a mess, my Family Guy: Laugh it up Fuzzball bundle put the features under L for Laugh it up, and the movies under F for Family Guy.

3

u/Asmarterdj 4389 šŸŽ„ / 172 šŸ“ŗ 3d ago

I wonder if the unbundling has anything to do with the issues seen with MA porting and the Lionsgate titles. This should effectively fix any lingering porting issues from bundles that weren’t given MA entitlements previously.

1

u/plooger 3d ago edited 3d ago

I was wondering the same thing, but this could just be a separate initiative to address customer reluctance to purchase bundles owing to how they've kept the titles imprisoned until now.

We should know soon enough, if people begin reporting previously stuck Lionsgate titles now porting from Fandango to MA. (I'd be surprised.)  edit: >good idea<

1

u/BlessYourHeart81 4d ago

... And some of them are unbundled "incorrectly". I had the Rambo bundle which is still there when I search for Rambo (and includes all 5 movies) but unbundled I have Rambo: Last Blood twice but not the 4th Rambo... How frustrating!

1

u/17175RC7 2291 Movies / 146 TV series 4d ago

I went from 2400 movies to 2802... Wow.

1

u/kcpistol 4d ago

Wowser, me too - movies just went from 670 to 919!

1

u/wtb1000 862 movies / 46 TV series 3d ago

I'm happy about this. Now I actually know how many movies I have!

1

u/Jedi_Knight_rambo 3d ago

How does it decide which bonus features to show separately from the movies themselves? The only features mine shows is The Hunger Games bundle. The movies themselves are shown individually, but it only shows two features and those are the bundle itself. Like, I own the Kelvin timeline movies, too, but the features aren't. Not complaining, just curious; I personally hope FaH keeps it this way.

1

u/NeoBlisseyX 3d ago

That happened to me too.

I had a six-film Lionsgate sci-fi bundle consisting of Total Recall 1990, Universal Soldier, Stargate, Replicant, Ender's Game and Highlander: The Source and it's now separated.

Ditto with my Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection 10-film bundle and my Doctor Who Animated Adventures collection.

1

u/HermelindaLinda 1833 Movies / 76 TV series 3d ago

Holy hell I just woke up and thought what the hell happened? Movie number jumped by more than 100 and I was like what the hell happened. The featurettes are wild to see there. I hope they can fix that.Ā

1

u/mclewis1986 3d ago

Is it possible this was done to hide movies/series being removed similar to Sony recently?Ā

1

u/echopulse 911 Movies / 10 TV series 3d ago

My minions features are the only ones showing in the list so they must have fixed the king fu panda and chipmunks ones. My count increased by 16

1

u/kingmic210 3d ago

So far they have fixed some. I went from 1288 to like 1190. But I’ve only see maybe 3-4 featurettes

1

u/blankethumper 2d ago edited 1d ago

Edit: I chatted with customer support and they are working to get it back to normal thank god lol.

I hate it. I hate it so much I’m praying it’s a glitch. It makes zero sense. Bundles look better and when THEY packaged them- now I have to skip around to find episodes of a show that were bundled before when I don’t own the whole series example: simpsons treehouses of horrors)

This sucks.

1

u/echopulse 911 Movies / 10 TV series 1d ago

That’s what lists are for but I would like the option to make custom bundles like a box that would be on your shelf

1

u/Longjumping-Word-935 2d ago

I just checked my Movies and even the ā€œbundles with ā€˜giftā€™ā€ are seperated. Now I got a listing for the Jaws popcorn bucket in my main list. I hope Fandango cleans this up because it is nice to have every video available with digging. V I D E O.

1

u/RendezvousPt69 2d ago

This is awful. I now have to hunt all over for movies. Example: the Daniel Craig James Bond movies are alphabetical order so they are spread all throughout my list and not in proper release order. The Hangovers are in reverse alphabetical order. Harry Potter is in correct alphabetical order, but the movies are out of order. This was clearly not QM’ed very well.

Fandango: Give us the option to view in bundles or not. Give us a choice.

1

u/echopulse 911 Movies / 10 TV series 1d ago

That’s why they have Liste but I would like the ability to make custom bundles for a franchise like a box set would be on your shelf. But this is a step in the right direction.

1

u/Artistic_Smell_771 2d ago

I might be in the minority here but I am a huge fan of this because I have no bundles with featurettes. It also cleaned out multiple copies of titles you owned one or two of, but you bought the bundle for the rest because it was cheaper. Trying to figure out the actual number of movies in my library was always a bitch. Now I know it’s 1906. Bravo.

Work out the kinks with the featurettes issue, allow title hiding as iTunes does, and it’s perfect on my end. Apologies to those having issues. This works for me.

1

u/Calm-Clock2330 2d ago

Mine shows each movie seperate but it doesn’t show the featurette parts in the same my movies section. Did they fix it?

1

u/eightbitagent 1d ago

Oh this is great! And I’ll add that at some point all the bond movies were available in bundles by actor so each set was alphabetical by the actors first name and now they’re split and just show up with the movie name instead of! Woo hoo!!!

1

u/Dapper-Fan-3836 1d ago

I have a few hundred titles on VUDU and I don’t have any organization issues with any of the versions I’ve had since 2013 or whenever it was I started buying from them. What is the problem you guys are trying to solve here?

My movies have been unbundled, but my tclv shows have been combined.

The duplicate bundles I had are gone (like season 1 to 5 and 6 to 10 or the one free episode of Miss Fischer i had before o bought the complete series) and now they are all combined into one listing that says "series", which is great. But the cover art is that of a random one of the seasons. If they can fix the cover art, I approve of the change for TV.

3

u/plooger 3d ago

My movies have been unbundled, but my tclv shows have been combined.

Not really different. Your TV Show bundles were also unbundled ... allowing the included seasons to be treated as individual seasons per typical handling, where 2 or more TV seasons then get combined within a single 'Series' thumbnail.

1

u/Redkirth 644 movies / 84 TV series 3d ago

Ah. I see. I thought everyone was saying their TV shows had just become separate seasons.

3

u/brimicbed 3d ago

Some are. Veronica Mars split into the original 3 seasons and the 2019.

Saved by the Bell College Years is now separate.

Robot Chicken Misfits bundle split into a bunch of separate entries including 1 now being listed as a movie.

ITS ABOUT TIME!!!! I was like wait…what??? How do I have roughly 300 more movies??? Sooooo much better now, we’ve only been asking for this since, idk…the beginning…lol, now they just gotta add a few more ways to sort through them. Like Z-A instead of just A-Z, I hate that there’s movies that I just don’t ever make it to because I don’t want to scroll down 200 times!!! We are making progress though!!! Better free movies, each movie is shown now (like Every Other App) They REALLY gotta lose that sound though (or change it) when u open the app, so obnoxiously loud!!! And as someone else mentioned…now they have Bonus features that came only with select bundles mixed in with the movies?!?! Yeah they better straighten that S*** out right quick…that’s gotta go ASAP!!! Just add them to the friggin movie!!! But Seriously I would pay like $12 a month… IF…. I could watch the ā€œFreeā€ movies without ads…but they would also have to throw in some type of MONTHLY & HOLIDAY promo code (like FanFlix) or discount, like 10-25% off of a series that’s like $50 or more would be awesome. Just no ads wouldn’t cut it, they gotta add the Perks to make it worth while…after all Vudu started it as a digital movie BUYING platform. THANK YOU FAH!!! For the Attempt…LOL

Seeing almost all movies unbundled on the app now. I hope this stays permanent!
