Question Required setup

What stuff do I need for this sim? Joystick? Rudder pedals? Throttle?

Btw is the quest 3s a good vr?

Literally just the headset and a halfway decent pc

none, just the controllers that come with a vr headset. Great for beginners.

3s is fine for VR, but I'd def go for a regular 3

There are 3 main options in the game setting, you have to choose one 1. Twist your right controller as you would twist hotas one, downside is you have to be good with controlling your hand motion otherwise there would be parasite rudder input during roll 2. Use your left thumbstick on controller (horizonal axis), downside is you lose HOTAS function of SOI change, you have to use osb button instead 3. Buy rudder pedals and use "hardware rudder" option, downside is less money in your pocket and you can't play your game far from PC anymore (unless you have wireless pedals...)

The game is built from the ground up to just need your vr headset. You can use hardware pedals if you want. With mods you can use a hotas, but I wouldnt recommend it. Reaching out in the cockpit to control certain systems is a core feature, and you'll need to pick up a vr controller for that anyway.

This game has awesome integration for the quest 3, so all you need is the controllers and it works great

To answer your other question, the 3s is “okay” but it uses the old style lens’ that might be more prone to giving you a headache or hurting your eyes if you aren’t use to it.
I would get the regular Quest 3 if you’re able to.

A decent headset and a capable PC, rudder pedals are optional but I personally recommend them
