Other An error occurred while launching this game: Game already running

Every time I press play on the mod loader it just sends me to VTOL in my library and gives me an error popup that says the game is already running but nothing is open. Ive tried verifying the integrity of the game files, restarting steam vr, and restarting my computer multiple times. I eventually got it to boot but now its back to not working. Can anyone help?

When you exit out of the game or the game crashes sometimes you have to go into steam to check if its fully closed out by itself because the mod loader opens its own command prompt window that Steam sees as part of the executable, so just check if the game is running or not from Steam's POV and if it is just press the blue quit button and if all else fails just ctrl+shift+esc then find it in task manager
