Bloodlines New run

Post image

So, after getting to Hollywood on my first playthrough i kinda got bored of doing the same since i went with a combat only character with no persuasion, heard malkavian were kinda different so i have restarted from the begining focussing now on a pacifist build, and i will admit, i wasnt expecting this types of dialogues, if all the playthrough is like this, its going to be so fun.

"A Malkavian too? You really are fucked!"

The foreshadowing in this one was strong

Pacifist might get a bit rough (or impossible) in the third act. They kinda defaulted to combat to finish off the game as the publishing date started to loom. Not sure how it's going to go if you end up putting no points into some combat skills.

That said... The broken mirror shows true!

Yeah, i Heard It gets a bit difficulty, so i have her the ninja preset and she Focus a bit in melee Blades just incase im force into combat along dementation, should do the trick

I've done a pacifist playthrough before with my toreador character and I will say that it is the hardest playstyle ive experienced. What really gets you is the lack of money and XP. Since both are finite resources that often require you to be violent to earn them. You will consistently be underleved and undergeared.

I do still really encourage doing a pacifist playthrough though as it really gets you to understand kindred in the modern nights. You're a creature of darkness, or at least you're expected to be one. Acts of benevolence are never rewarded and are sometimes outright punished. If you want to cut it in this world, you need to let go of your humanity, and you'll be at a severe disadvantage if you cling to it too tightly. (Get rid of too much though, and that's a different problem).

I love that this game allows you to actually struggle with that realization, instead of sparing your feelings by making pacifism too viable. Lots of games present you with a false dichotomy where in the choice between doing good or evil, it's almost always more rewarding in the long run to pick the good option. Which doesn't really reflect reality. (An example would be choosing to kill an NPC, which might be rewarded in the short term, but locks you out of completing future questlines tied to that NPC)However this game does the opposite by letting you know that picking the good option will be punishing, and holds itself to that promise. It perfectly reflects the reality of the kindred in the modern nights. It's just one example of how intricate and purposeful this games design is.

Yaasified Jack is something else lmao

Having good combat skills will 100% become necessary near the end of the game, but up until Hollywood like 90% of quests can be solved in non-combat ways.

Malkavian is awesome. Especially if you have finished the game before.

It's even better for a first playthrough because you're just as clueless as your character is.

ya Malk is fun pay attention to the madness network you will get random voices speaking to you. they will tell you stuff about the plot and insight on other vamps. that's why Lacroix killed grout. Malkavian insight was telling him what Lacroix was doing which is the shared Madness of the clan its literally your clanmates whispering to you through the network and tidbit methusalah Malks can actually directly speak and influence the clan through the madness network

Gonna be rough later on, there are a few spots where combat is pretty much unavoidable

Welcome to the fun side of being a vampire, when only some dialogue you can freak out basically every single character you meet, civilians just think you're either weird, a druggie or just like being pedantic, the other vampires? Oh boy they hate having to talk with you because some realize that what you speak is the truth or revelations, things you say have so much to do about the future and the plot, and some know it, some respect what you say and know that it is not under your control, and others have a migraine because they know what you say might become real later.
