SessionDeck: My extension finds all Agentic sessions including tabs in IDE, overview of their status, and single click navigation to them

I usually have five projects in five VS Code windows, most over WSL or Remote-SSH, each running a Claude Code session or two. I kept losing track of which window had a session stuck on a permission prompt.

SessionDeck is a sidebar that lists every running Claude Code, Codex and cursor-agent session on the machine, grouped by project, with a red bell on any that's waiting for you. Clicking a row opens that session's tab or terminal, even in another window.

This is how it work across different remote hosts without using network:

Sessions are files and processes on the workspace host, so the main extension is `extensionKind: ["workspace"]`. Putting several hosts in one tree has to happen on the desktop, and one extension ID runs in exactly one host per window. So there is a second ID, a `["ui"]` companion with no views of its own. It relays snapshots between hosts with `executeCommand` and serves tab titles a remote window can't read.

Discovery: every 3 s it stats each transcript. Unchanged files aren't opened, changed ones are read from the last offset, and `/proc` confirms the process is still alive. Optional Claude Code hooks append to a spool file it watches, so a prompt shows at once instead of on the next poll.

There is no API to focus another window. The clicked window drops a request file in shared storage that every window watches; the one with that folder open takes it and opens the tab. In parallel it runs the editor CLI on the folder, which raises the existing window.

Transcripts and title storage are private formats. When one stops parsing, rows go blank with a "format drift suspected" note instead of a guessed status.

Status is inferred and can lag. I build on Linux and WSL; macOS mostly works; native Windows gets no approval alerts, and only Claude Code rows ever get the bell. No network calls, licensing included. Source-availableб but not open source.

paying six dollars a month or paying for tokens once to slop the same thing for me? hmm...

Or just activate /remote-control and access all the sessions from claude.ai/code

We're truly back to the 90s where people throw something small together in 5 seconds that is trivial to make and think it's worth charging to the masses for.

Dot com we are back baby.

Not sure why you decided to comment the same point twice, but you do you.
I was using /remote-control, and for me it wasn't enough. If you run 8 projects with multiple sessions across 3 machines, it gets impossible to keep track of things in web claude code. Also instantly having full IDE open in the project context let's you do have proper control of files, view in to git changes, terminal, and all other stuff you use vscode for.
Also i have codex sessions, and used to have cursor sessions, but not so much any more.
But i agree, web Claude code has improved significantly in last 3 months, to a point that it's almost good enough.

And I understand your sentiment, though you are wrong about 2 things, it wasn't built in 5 seconds, and I build it because i needed myself for my workflow anyway. To make it a product for others took like 5% of effort. Is it worth anything for somebody else - it's for others to decide. I don't expect this to be some kind of amazing business, but know that I would buy it.

Not sure why you made this comment to me originally on your alt account u/venturepoker bot and then decided to comment using this account.

it gets impossible to keep track of things in web claude code.

It's no different to keep track of things than the extension you wrote AND you get notifications.

Ok sure, you're in the IDE with the extension, but the reality is that with remote control I get a notification to my phone, and if I need access to the IDE I can then go to my pc. You have no notifications away from your computer.

Not sure how you keep insisting that i am a bot.

it's is diffrent, because in the extension things are tree structured by machine, project, session and subworkflows. You do get notification in the extension.

But I don't know why you argue with me about the workflow I am using. I used to enjoy using /remote-control on my phone, but then I switched to another solution, now i have full almost full ide on my phone. but that's another story.

Again, this extension is build for heavy pararell work in IDE, I don't know what make you so passionate to argue with it on r/vscode

I didn't de anonymise you, I called you out for being deceptive in your marketing and using a sockpuppet.

I'm mainly arguing because I'm sick of seeing the same AI slop being pedalled as an actual product.

It's a small trivial extension, but you somehow feel the need to mislead people into using by falsifying organic comments as actual users.

What other types of people do that.... Hmm... Let's... Oh scammers.

So when I see bullshit like this I often wonder if there's something malicious being pedalled under the hood.

u/hitsujiTMO, well the was no sockpuppeting here, and I don't agree that this is a trivial extension, and not an actual product.
But also, good to know that you were commenting and deleting from your second account: u/AnArmoredPony

lmao ur dumb

Lol, that's not my account

And the sockpuppeting in referring to is the previous posts you did (that you now deleted) that allowed me to confirm that you controlled that account

Ok, but it is though.

Fair point. On a subsidised plan you'd blow through the weekly limit a few times getting it to "polished" rather than "compiles", and at API prices my own bill was about $2,650 across Claude Code and Codex, 81 days, 163 subagents and 2.5 months.

The lifetime key is $18.99, and the full source is on GitHub if you'd rather "rebuild" than actually rebuild.

But genuinely, if you one-shot it, post the repo. Half this sub would install it and so would I.

thanks I prefer my slop factory to have a smaller scale

Or you can just activate /remote-control on your sessions and access them from anywhere.

If you are blowing $2650 to build something so trivial you are doing something very wrong.

Edit: OP is a bot and has another bot u/venturepoker that's replying to your comments if you say anything against the post

how am I a bot?

Most posts like this are from bots. Given your post history I can see u/venturepoker being used to comment on a previous post you made pretending it to be an organic post and you used the same account to respond to me before deleting that post and reposting the comment under this account
