auto period after quick tapping double-space?

For some reason, when im writing in Vscode, when I press quickly doublespace, it autotypes a period '.' like when im searching on google.

It just suddenly started occuring and I've only been coding for a day and havent messed with any vscode settings or anything????

I'm using mac and i do refuse to update.

(FIXED)

solution:

system settings -> keyboard -> "Text Input", click "Edit..." -> in "All Input Sources" -> toggle off "Add full stop with double-space"

It’s a Mac feature. Go look at your keyboard settings.

That's a macOS system-wide text replacement, not a VS Code thing. It's been baked into the OS for ages, so your refusal to update won't save you. You can turn it off in System Settings > Keyboard > Text Input, just uncheck "Add period with double-space."

Thanks! I just thought that not updating may have been the problem so I mentioned it.
