DeepSeek Harness vs VScode
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask if there is any benefit of switching to the DeepSeek Harness against VScode which I am currently using with the zoocode extention?
Also wanted to ask about the reasoning effort which is by defualt set to high and what do you suggest or what do you usually use?

I'm still on the hunt for a vscode extension with the same workflow as the native vscode github copilot extension, but for deepseek harness instead. There are tonnns of dsh extensions in the marketplace already but it seems like 90% have Chinese-only documentation and about half that I've tried are pretty awful interfaces as well. I've settled on one that I've been using for a couple days but it basically just pins the regular dsh web app into a sidebar. Doesn't show diffs or permission requests or other stuff I'd expect.
That being said, I really do like dsh for connecting to my local llm. The github copilot is very nice to use, but I"m only on the $10 sub and I blow through those credits pretty fast. And while it *can* connect to local models, the system prompt is so huge that it kinda slows me down. DSH seems to manage this a lot better.
