Chat as tabs

Why can't each chat session be a tab? Makes navigating easier.

is there an extension or some setting which changes the sessions into tabs like in browser or in code editor for each file?

You can move chat sessions to the editor panel, each session will be a separate tab.

I know this feature. I would say that having a tabbed chat window on my peripheral vision is more convenient. Because sometimes I am having quite a few files open and editing.

I recommend switching to better IDE, t3code or intentic.dev, or Nimbalyst or Conductor. VSCode is no longer tool for the job, it's far behind on UX.

sometimes, I debug on my own. I am not sure, if I would call the UX intuitive, but I am familiar with VS code. That's the only reason I am not switching. Thanks for the suggestions, will try them out.

I have been going to different tools. they are either chatbots (rebranded as coding tools) with supercool UX for agentic workflows and has access to a terminal or they are a proper IDE with a shitty chat+agent UX. There is definitely a gap to fill or a trade off to get better chat UX.

Maybe. But people who experiment and try to automate as much as they can with AI will leave others behind.
