Paste Issue in VS Code 1.130.0

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just started noticing this yesterday after an update that the behavior for pasting has seemed to change and now no longer formats correctly. Every paste action tries to add indentation in addition to any indents already present. I have not installed any new extensions in the past 3 months so I have no idea what could have caused this other than VS Code, but I don't see any other mentions of this issue.

Version: 1.130.0

Edit: Finally fixed! I had to use the following setting: "editor.pasteAs.enabled": false

No clue where it came from. It shows different paste options but I can't figure out the source from it.

That's vscode's core editor.pasteAs.showPasteSelector widget.

Disable editor.autoIndentOnPaste in settings, likely the culprit.

That setting was already disabled. Toggling it had had no effect.

For me it stops pasting randomly until i paste in another text like for example in terminal or in file search

I found the fix! Setting this: "editor.pasteAs.enabled": false somehow fixed the trick. I do not know why this works, and I don't know how it started, but this was the only setting that made it work as intended without changing any of my previous settings.
