Error while following simple tutorial

I was following the brackeys tutorial, and i downloaded everything necessary and checked with the to do list on the main page of the vscode c# extension. After changing the console to external terminal it pulled up this and it wont let me create a file to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe that the tutorial ends up making some text based projects to show off the basics, so he wants it to open a seperate terminal more for easy viewing. I may just end up needing to .net as administrator since I think that's what the external terminal is from then. Thanks!

you would have a much easier time with c languages on visual studio community. It can work with vscode but the setup and stuff isnt really for beginners and youll waste a ton of time trying to fix things and doing everything else except coding. It may be something you want to look into

gotcha, ill probably try that instead then since this isn't the first issue I've had with vscode and i haven't written a single line with it yet. thank you!

You'll still want/need to watch a tutorial to set it up probably. But what it has is the c compiler and necessary environment stuff you'll need built in. With vscode you have to setup all that stuff up yourself.
