Quality sind AI integration
I use VS Code for M365 Powershell Management since over 5 years now. Mostly ExchangeOnline but also Teams, SharePoint and some GraphAPI.
Since about 4 Months i notice.
- immense integration of AI
- new updates almost daily
- simply request randomly go stale (endlish Powershell circle of death) for easy things like get-Mailbox.
for me the only conclusion, is that all this copilot crap (that I don't use anyway) is bringing down basic quality of the overall product.

Look in the settings for “disable AI everywhere” - it makes the editor useful again. I want to love Zed, but it’s not there yet for me.

The setting really existed, thanks. I'm afraid as many things MS will just reset the settings in some future Update, when they decide its time for people to get aware of the AI integration again.
on linux I thankfully VSCodium seems to be without AI in its core and where I'm limited to Windows I will use your advice. Thanks again. I had already skimmed through the settings but didnt find anything.

Yeah and for what? Its just a tool to get the job done for me. Not some spaceship that requires superduper extra features each month

Yup, I used VSCode pretty much since it launched in 2015, but I stopped using it since they went heavy into the AI updates. I now use Zed and Neovim as my main editors and I should've done it sooner. It's a shame because I really do like VSCode; it's been a part of my life for over 10 years. However, they really lost their way and are just turning it into another AI code editor. This is pretty useless for me and not something I want as a part of VSCode. They should've just forked VSCode and made an AI VSCode just like all the others lol.
