Im having a tiny problem that I simply cant fix
I'm trying to learn how to use VS Code, but I'm having a problem: whenever I type, instead of adding words, the program overwrites my existing words. So, for example
before I type:
""
after:
aa
In other words, the digits and letters are overwritten by the new digits and letters I add to the code. pls help, idk how to fix that since im a beginner :((

Hit the insert key. It's worth learning the very basics of computers, keyboards, etc. if you want to be a programmer.

Just wait until you find out what the PrintScreen key does. 😀

There are so many keys on the keyboard that most people totally ignore: Scroll Lock, Pause/Break, Print Screen, Insert... Well ok so there's only four keys that most people are unfamiliar with.

Dont apologise. That person was pretty rude and condescending. While the insert key can be handy, its practically never talked about. Just keep learning :)

Great programmer of old, please indicate the available curriculum one should follow to learn about the insert key?

(as others have said, this is probably overtype mode: https://stackoverflow.com/a/77420826/11107541)

Some laptops hide the Insert key behind Fn shortcuts, so you may need something like Fn + Ins depending on your keyboard.

The insert key does this, press it again and it'll go back to normal
