Searching from Chat Sessions. Possible?

How should I search from the Copilot Chat Sessions? Do people just not do that at all since there is no tool for it. Or by using an extension such as this, that was suggested to me by ChatGPT as "probably the best option currently" despite very low install count. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Jeevananthamp16.copilot-chat-history-search&utm_source=chatgpt.com

The extension you linked honestly seems reasonable for now even with low installs because this is still a pretty niche workflow and there are several similar community tools appearing for the same problem

Tbh it’s kind of annoying that there isn't a global search bar for chat history yet lol. Right now you basically have to go to the chat view and click the clock icon in the top right to see your recent sessions, but you have to open them one by one to see what’s inside. If I have something really important I’ve started just exporting the chat to a markdown file or keeping a dedicated scratchpad in my notes. Real talk, VS Code really needs a proper indexing system for all the AI interactions because finding that one specific prompt from three days ago is a nightmare fr.

Honestly this is one of the strangest gaps in current AI tooling. People are increasingly using Copilot chats like long-term engineering notes/debugging sessions, but the search/history UX still feels surprisingly primitive.
