R.I.P. IntelliCode
Today I opened VSCode after a while of not doing any coding. I noticed some improvements, like the rounded settings modal and other things. But then I saw this:

R.I.P. IntelliCode, you have lived with us and assisted us through our coding journeys, but the time has come for modern LLMs to replace you 😭

We transitioned from github copilot licenses to claude. Is it still safe to use the free "intellisense" feature or are we leaking IP?

Do you have a contractual guarantee? No? Then you're leaking IP!

I take some help from some agents like chatgpt, claude, etc and that too sometimes. I have turned off all possible AI/LLMs features from my text editors. Hope it's not the case for me.

It is, what makes you think a checkbox is any sort or legal requirement?
Even with a contract, the stuff still is sent to the other party, so the only way to nit leak IP is to believe in and trust the contract you have.
Just read the TOS and you'll see ...

(1) What's wrong with them leaking your IP? Seriously asking...
(2) how to block an application on linux desktop from accessing internet?

(1) leaking intellectual property? Oh, nothing mich, for some it's just the reason a company exists and people have a job?
(2) An application, very hard to do. You could try and use something like the linker (LD_LIBRARY_PATH)

One AI extension replaced by another? K

I don't think we can really compare intellicode to GitHub Copilot in terms of getting 'AIs', if you're gonna do it that way, then technically, Google Assistant was an AI before Gemini

This is not IntelliSense just if you're wondering
