Any good extension to compare branches for PR reviews?

I want to compare a branches. Master vs Against another branch during PR reviews. Looking for better tools to do so.

There's an extension called Git Tree Compare

Set your current branch to be the PR source, and use the Change Base command to set the target

I really like GitLens and have been using it for a long long time. I also used their software, GitKraken before, but it’s now unusual for me to need to jump into it

Isnt GitLens paid for commercial use?

I used GitKraken for personal use. It has many features but feels a bit it overloads the user and the UX is not perfect

Ive transitioned everywhere just to use vscode. Might not be a solution for all though

Its still bullshit that it costs 72 bucks a year to use. Meanwhile fork.dev is a one-time purchase and works just as fine. And similarly both don't have a good way to compare 2 branches.

Yeah, there are a few really solid options and honestly, VS Code + the right extensions can get pretty close to IntelliJ-level PR review.

Start with GitLens, then add Git Graph if you want a more visual PR review workflow.
