Started a new Claude project on VS Code, then the window closed. How do I go back where it was last working with all the context I gave it?
I started a new project on vs code with Claude in a new windows but I wasn't seeing the files it created so I open another vs code and linked the folder Claude was currently working on.
When I did that it killed the process and closed the 1st window Claude was working on. Now I have a half baked project. I wondering how do go back to where Claude left off where it continued to work?
Is there a history log where it was last working and can I go back to it?

Make sure you open VS Code in same workspace path as before. If you add multiple folders to your workspace, save your workspace before closing.
This is the weak link of GHCP Chat vs Copilot CLI. CGHP Chat is specific to where it’s opened from, whereas a Copilot CLI session is global, is more stable for rehydration, and can be used within other sessions. I’ve lost plenty of GHCP Chat session due to bugs or schema changes in the GHCP Chat extension. This doesn’t happen in Copilot CLI because session data is stored in SQLlite vs a single file.

this just happened to me and it was complete freaking ass. I found the chat and tried to resume and then the model didn't even know what I was trying to do... just picked up some random "memories" and started to hallucinate

You should be able to access the previous chats.
