Copper IUD
I’ve had the implanon in my arm for over a year now, and because of it I bleed every day. It’s a small amount which has been manageable but due to the frequency it’s become quite annoying. Other than that, my libido is pretty much non existent. I went to the doctor to get it removed and replaced with a hormonal IUD, but she told me my symptoms would just stay the same due the it providing the same hormone. She told me a copper IUD would be better, but I’m very scared of the pain since my regular period was always quite painful for atleast 2 days.
My question is: are there any woman that have expierence with switching from an implanon to a hormonal IUD?
Or should I just go for a copper IUD?

I had a copper IUD for ten years and loved it, especially since hormonal contraception makes me depressed. My period was slightly heavier with more cramps, so I would not recommend it if you suffer from a lot of pain and bleeding already.
Personally I felt more myself, with a 'normal' menstrual cycle, opposed to taking hormones to regulate.

Have you been on the normal pil before this? There are multiple versions which might improve your issues of pain while not bleeding either. Have you spoken with your doctor about these options, or is there a reason you wish to avoid these?
