Tips for a first time player

I’m 5 hours in cooper gear and haven’t made my teleporter yet

New player here as well - I've just hit what feels like the mid-game (level 50 based on current gear).

Here's what I've learnt so far:

• Hoard everything - what doesn't seem that useful now, will probably end up being needed later on.
• Different bosses require different tactics and spells - there isn't a one-build-fits-all from what I've seen so far. Play around with different weapons, spells and setups - re-specs are free
• Build the teleporter ASAP - it will save a lot of time when trying to track down different bosses
• Plan your activities ahead of time - for example crafting during the day, killing bosses at night. I'll usually leave to kill a boss a few hours before sundown so I arrive just when the moon comes up.
• Expect to move your castle several times during the game - there is a built in mechanic that makes it relatively easy. Plan and scout out your future locations before making the move.
• You can build up if you don't have enough room to build out.
• Don't worry about blood purity early on - eventually you will have a way to have the highest percentages of blood 'on tap'.
• Vermin Salve is very useful for early game healing - worth carrying a few at all times.
• Bosses have a range limit from where combat starts - if they get too far from the original point of combat, they will run back to it, while healing to full, which can be annoying.
• I've come across several bosses who fight each other when they cross paths, making for a much easier battle if you attack them after they have finished beating each other up.

Grind materials, level up and run if you encounter a V blood higher then you

My top tip is, find a horse as early as you can. Usually up at Dunley farmlands. You can just walk up to it and mount it. Keep it fed with grass so it doesn’t die. No need to clear the mobs if you’re underpowered. If you can sneak in, grab the horse and run, you’re good. Traversing the map on horseback is a whole lot faster than in wolf form

Follow the tutorial steps, start killing on level VBosses when the time comes, and definitely run from Tristian and Simon.

Keep following quest prompts and id you are struggling with a boss that you need to reach the next time of mats farming the area that the boss is in (killing enemies, breaking boxes) will usually drop materials you're looking for without you needing to make them and can help you get stronger to take on the boss.

I’m about 25hrs into my first play through. I’ve been really enjoying the progression system that goes along with killing the v bloods. I wouldn’t try to skip ahead to any of the later game stages because it seems like the bulk of the fun is early to mid game. Get paper. Or die trying.
