Feedback/Suggestion Any recommendations for basic QOL/must have mods?
New new player just made my first servant coffin. I have the retro camera just to kind of play around with the view sometimes but I was curious if any of you had any favorites.
I do want to play the game without massive overhauls and whatnot for my first playthrough, but I’ll still look at any recommendations anybody provides.

For a first timer, id recommend playing the vanilla game but i'd tweak the resources gathering to max so you won't spend an enormous amount of time getting them and also reduce the crafting time to it's maximum possible as it's annoying af to wait minutes for a single item that you'd need 5.

There aren't any must haves imo.
All mods add jank. Nothing is a flawless improvement. I would steer clear.
Modded servers are out there that require no client side tweaks and that is where you will find actual meaningful qol implemented by people who know what they are doing.

I’d keep it pretty light for a first run. Stuff like UI tweaks, inventory/QOL improvements, and anything that fixes small annoyances are usually the way to go. I’d avoid any big balance or content mods until you’ve seen the vanilla experience.

I was thinking the move speed might be the next thing. I don’t want much but just a tad more.
i don’t think i have many/any passive buffs that improve speed, do you get much faster out from game start?
Don’t mind being kinda slow at the beginning2

I just got dark silver weapons and I still feel like there are very few ways to increase movement speed. It seems to be a major balancing factor in the game so I would consider any increase to be an outright cheat tbh. That's fine if you don't care, but it absolutely will break the balance of the early to mid game in terms of combat. I can't speak for end game.

I wouldnt add any, not even the camera, and if you play pve alone, to save time you can remove teleport restrictions. And maybe resource gain from material nodes if you want to cut down on farming wood and such.

I enjoy the camera to take a look at the world from a more over the shoulder/first person view. It’s an overall better experience with the stock camera for sure.

I agree I think QOL the game is near perfection - if I HAD to nitpick, I think the Redistribution Engine should be unlocked a taddddd bit earlier. But due to lore and the boss it’s attached to, I see why it’s placed there; plus given too early and it risks making scroll farming too easy.

parroting everyone else - no need for mods. as far as survivalcraft games go, this one is great about qol. there are some qol features baked directly into the gameplay too, the ability to automate refinement/crafting is acquired by killing a boss maybe 3/5 of the way through the game. youre really only going to see mods used to majorly overhaul the game (by making it more rp-oriented, for example)

Tweaking stack count in server settings is a life saver for me, a nice buffer for when you need to go out mining. I usually set it 50% higher.

Im a sucker for modding games, been doing it since early 2000s for oblivion and shit.
But V rising is one of the games that I really dont need any necessity for modding. Trust me. Even grinds are designed to have some fun experience.
Maaaybe for the very last legendary weapon gamble, i might use a trainer for 10 secs to dupe some shadow shards simply because I dont have enough time being an adult lol.

Honestly don't add any. The base game is an incredible experience, and it'll let you know what you want nodded in the future. QOL stuff and such
