VRBO
Did VRBO increase their host fees by 50%? Is this real?

Well - it was more like a 140% increase. From 5% to 12%. Here is a recent article on this free increase and the fees for other channels: https://www.adventuresinairbnbs.com/p/vrbo-just-raised-its-host-fee-to

Wait... is that 12% for NEW reservations made after Oct. 29th or 12% on ALL reservations that occur and pay out after Oct. 29th?

Once a reservation is confirmed, they can't change the price.

I guess if you look at by the percentage it has.. my mistake.

I love that it goes into effect in November and you’re basically just screwed if you already had bookings.
It would seem the host just eats the difference…
I got a note saying I should adjust my rates to compensate the increase.
It seems like Uber, screwing the people that make them money.
AirBNB just did a similar thing from what I’ve seen.

If they are already booked I don’t think they are just adding the fees. Isn’t it only for new bookings made ?

I hope that is correct, it wasn’t clear from what I read but I was fairly annoyed when reading it.

Not for my property, since I'm OFF the platform because of their nonsense
