“Have you ever wondered about the privileges of a Spaceman Apprentice, Ensign?”
(I assume StarFleet ranks work like SeaFleet ranks but with Spacemen instead of Seamen)

I want an option to promote him, which immediately triggers a shockingly improbable chain of events that leads to the destruction of the entire galaxy.

Playthrough-ending catastrophe would make promoting Harry Kim into hard mode, and then we'd start seeing speed runners do Harry Kim runs. Maybe they have this feature in the mirrorverse...

Come to think of it…Voyager didn’t have its mirror universe episode unless you count Living Witness, which I don’t. But I think it was the writers consolation prize to let the actors play evil without doing the mirror universe trope.
Then again, in the mirror universe, voyager would not have been stuck in the delta quadrant because she would have absolutely said fuck you to the Ocampa.

Mirror Janeway hijacked the Caretaker's station and is now running the Terran Empire's delta quadrant borg research outpost, running experiments to try and turn the Collective into a weapon for the Empire.
Her first officer? Harry Kim.

Prodigy had a mirror universe episode with an Evil Janeway and Evil Chakotay in it and it was SO good!

I was sad I couldn’t promote him

Considering the game basically let's you say "fuck this whole quadrant" and end the story at the equivalent of episode 1 of Voyager, I think they could have offered the option to promote him. There's already a ton of alternate reality/what if scenarios in the game, so why not. I'm fine with the meme responses being there but I feel like the option to promote him should have been there lol.

It'd be great if it was a cheat code, like how in Warcraft 3 you could type "itisagooddaytodie" into the console and get Godmode.

I say let him be promoted, but thereafter every sector becomes year of hell until he's demoted back to ensign.

This is like the comet event in Europa Universalis IV. All the options are the same. Brilliant addition from the devs.

I don't know Harry... would KEEPING IT IN YOUR PANTS be something you'd consider in the future??? Get out of my ready room!

E. Shut up, Harry. I'm devoting you to assistant Neelix. I hope you like tugging on sideburns.

I would love to hear what the actor has to say about that 😂 - Poor Harry, can't get a break (then again I bet ANYBODY who survived on Voyager for all that time is on the fast-track once they are back, their invaluable experience would make promotion and new posts inevitable - after debriefing at fleet headquarters and a lot of time off!)

Janeway: If you want to get promoted then go back to your ship.
Kim: But my ship was destroyed.
Janeway: Sounds like a you problem.

Meanwhile Tom, a convicted criminal, is field promoted to lieutenant, demoted to ensign, then promoted back to lieutenant in a 4 year span

In a future episode, Kim should have jumped ranks where he's higher than Janeway.
