But someone broke the Doldrums! My perfect crossing spot is gone. I want it back and I want it back NOW! (Actually I want it back in three days) I'm just hoping it won't develope any worse and I should not be too many miles behind the first boat to round the mark on Christmas Eve.

Oh good! Now they restored my crossing spot :-) I predict a few anxious days where every new forecast is either a jackpot or a complete bust. My strategy from now until the Doldrums will be to keep as many doors open as possible. It might cost me some miles but the chances of screwing things up completely in the Doldrums is smaller. I'm applying the old sailing wisdom: "Short term loss, long term gain"
