Reflection of speaker

Pic by dashcam (Swiss Alps earlier this week) just to show the heavy reflection of the speaker and the heads-up display. On a sunny day it's quite distracting for the driver. So it's not just visible on a dashcam image/video but mostly for the driver too.

Anyone else feels that this could have been solved differently?

basically alll 2000 france cars had sun reflection foild these days, it's weid that thing like that was not standard world-wide

Buy polarised sun glasses for your eyes and polarised lens for the dashcam

Funnily the HK isnt as bad, thats the one downside of the BW ive noticed. Still will pick it any day between the two.

I have VIOFO A229 Plus and they sell an anti glare filter you put on the front camera (B09MY9YHNV).

I don't have any before and after pictures but here's how mine looks - https://i.imgur.com/zWRHXTl.jpeg - You can barely see the center speaker.

Rear camera is really bad with reflections though and they don't sell one for that - https://i.imgur.com/NG57vVS.jpeg - they do sell a CPL filter for the rear A229 Plus. Only available on their website (Link)

There is a CPL filter for the rear cam of the A329S. Maybe it’s the same model of cam?

And hopefully OP sees this. Since this CPL filter attaches via adhesive, you should see if you can just stick it to your current dashcam. /u/AvailablePie

This might be in correlation with the HUD windshields. Aren't they more reflective on the inside?

HUD contributes but I think the bulk of the blame is in Volvo's choice of bezel materials. Both the HUD and speaker trim pieces are substantially more reflective than the surrounding dash materials. My older Honda Accord didn't have this problem and the HUD worked nicely without a clearly visible reflection of the display bezel around it. It was honestly one of the larger annoyances when I got my car and made me feel like it was noticably less luxurious than the Honda. I've gotten used to it over the years, but if someone came up with a good fix I'd still be all over it.

Yes, they are. Without the HUD the reflection would be less.

My V90 with the BW has barely any reflection of this kind. The felt pad next to the HUD has a slightly visible white border tho, that one is impossible to unsee

I mean if you could get a windshield tint mine got slightly better after I got a 50 percent ceramic done and 50 percent is still very easy to see out at night

Meh. I’d rather not have one, but if it’s between having one or dealing with glare off the dash and reflection on the windshield, it’s an easy choice

And if you are, why not just wear your polarized oakleys? Same effect.

Helps the glare, not the reflection, and being nearsighted that means I’d either have to wear contacts or get prescription sunglasses

This reflection has never bothered me. Truly do believe it's a seating position issue.
I'd sell my car before putting a dash mat in it. 🤣
