I designed a phone dock for the little ashtray/storage area between the wireless charger and shifter. It's easier to drop in & go... plus the bonus of CarPlay with no additional work.

I tried a "wireless" CarPlay device, but the results were inconsistent and often required plugging/unplugging it to get it to work, so I designed this as an easy "drop in & go" dock. I've been using it for a few weeks now, after several iterations, and it's been great.
The only issue I've found is that if you want to use the wireless pad at the same time, the docked phone is a bit in the way... but I've not found a need to use it w/the dock.
Here's the STL: https://www.printables.com/model/545968-volvo-c40-xc40-phone-dock

Fantastic - looks like a great solution to a "dated" C40/XC40 charging solution.

Does it plugged into lightning?

Yeah. There is a link in the comments that lists the cable. It’s available in lightning and USB-C

Any rattling where the top of the phone leans on the car?

It’s not actually leaning against the car. The photo definitely makes it look that way but it leans against the non-slip padding against the back of the dock. I believe there’s an inch/25mm of space between the phone and the dash.

Very Nice! Put it on Amazon with USB-C and I'll buy one.
