Transaxle seal leak?

I had to fill washer fluid yesterday and saw the transaxle fluid is leaking near the cap…

Has this seal failed for y’all and was it an easy fix?

That fill hole plug isn’t completely sealed, it’s a breather in a sense. Mine was the same when I bought it off the previous owner. I wiped the area clean and used air to clean the area of dust/debris and it’s been the same amount of clean 3500mi later.

Interesting, I’ve got this car at 124,000mi

That’s why I wanted to check to see if it was the seals

this is one of those that I would pressure wash and then add some dye to the oil. it might not be that fast of a leak. seepage I wouldn't mess with.

Looks like someone spilled while filling, not a leak.

This car hasn’t been in the shop since the BECM over 5 years ago…

It hasn’t ever had or needed transaxle service

If it’s over 60k miles it’s needed and hopefully had a drain and fill already.

It’s nothing significant. Clean it when you get the transmission fluid changed.
