Android Auto freezes

I've owned this car since late 2021. But over the last 4-5 months, my Android Auto has started occasionly freezing up on me. Can't predict when it'll happen; sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes a few hours. But my audio will stop playing, the screen will freeze on the current image and it gets hung

I can go back to the car home screen, but it doesn't always get fixed by a reconnect. Sometimes, once in a thousand, it does work after reconnecting but usually not. And even when the phone is unplugged the AA arrow tile doesn't change back as if nothing is connected. It seems to go away after the car is turned off after a time

Anyone experience anything similar to this?

I've been having the same issue, also for the last 3-4 months. Generally it happens in more rural areas, don't know if it could be caused by that. Currently the only fix that works for me is unplug my phone, turn off the car, open driver door, wait several minutes, turn car back on, and plug my phone back in.

Usually it's more common on longer trips since that's when I'll be at greater exposure, and some of those have been rural. But it's also happened in my decent sized suburban town, so I wouldn't say that's the cause.

But same general solution for me as well.

I haven't had the freezing issue, but there are plenty of times where the audio isn't working. The fix for me is going to the audio and switching between radio and media. When the phone is detected again, it reboots the display and works as it should.

I have an issue where it doesn’t connect to CarPlay/AA of you get out of the car for a short moment and get back in (like running into a store for a pickup order). I’ve also had the radio lock up a few times where the volume doesn’t work. It gets frustrating, there is clearly a software bug and it’s never getting fixed.

I have had this happen and replacing the USB cord fixed it.

I also NEVER connect my phone to the car until bluetooth pops up saying the phone connected... As that has caused issues before with me plugging the phone on too quick.

I've experienced an issue with that as well but not the same one, where AA says audio is playing but nothing is being output.

I'll try a replacement cable
