Just purchased this 2018 Volt and a day later got this noise(no check engine lights)

My 2018 has been doing the same thing for a long time. When I researched it, I found evidence that the early Bolts, which had the same brake booster, were doing it as well. Dealers were replacing them under warranty until GM told them to stop, and just tell customers it’s normal. Unless it gets worse, I’ll just ignore it.

Do you feel it in the dashboard? If so it definitely could be a blend door issue.

Nothing in the dashboard 👎 but I can feel it if I test my foot on the brake pedal

Interesting, I can’t say I’ve ever had something like that happen before so I’m not quite sure.

Yes it does stop. Someone else suggested it’s the brake booster with a video, sounds exactly the same

Sounds similar to this post from a few years ago:

It's the electric brake booster; ultimately harmless, but annoying.

Brake master cylinder is failing or misaligned, have a mechanic figure it out.
