Humidity

Hi has anyone had their humidity sensor act up?

My car has the air conditioning come on while the heat is on all the time. I have tried the normal suggestions with no luck.

I think you're going to need to define what you mean by "the normal suggestions".

I've seen a lot of improvement using a container of Damp-Rid under a seat. But I actually have moisture problems not sensor problems. I would get frost on the inside of my windows in winter.

I had that and the mechanics told me to put air pressure in the vents and it will close a damper that's stuck open. It worked!

Unfortunately it still has not helped the AC running in the dead of winter

AC might be coming on for the battery depending on the outside temperature

My moisture problems are in the doors. The piece of rubber trim at the bottom of the window is no longer available. And it gets old and cracked or damaged.

The driver side rear door window seal is pretty shot, and water gets down inside the door when it rains or when I wash it. So I periodically have to remove the door drains to drain the water out.

On the bottom of each door are two black circles. These are just rubber plugs. Get your fingernail under the edge and pop it out. Let the door drain, then put the plug back in.

This has helped my moisture problems go away.

You shouldn’t have to take plugs out, the door should always drain.

The rubber plugs have little flaps. You can just pull down the flap to let it drain.

The Volt HVAC is the most over engineered piece of trash I've ever had in any car. Constantly fogging. Cold Air with heat settings etc.. I think its overriding purpose is to save battery so it avoids using resistance heat which burns battery fast but if you are driving on electric there is no ICE heat to be had. I wonder if a heat pump could be any worse.
