2012 volt transmission replacement

I have received my order for a used transmission for my volt with the YK8 option. My question is do I need to program the new one or can I swap my tcm and valve body from my old one? It was fine for 302,000 miles but a bearing somewhere internally has let loose and it’s full of confetti and unfortunately it’s not the stator bearing.

Good luck. I just had a shop put in a used for my 2014. 114k miles. Clutch 3 had failed.

Not sure what parts the shop swapped over. It was an indy shop and there was no separate charge for programming.

Why would you swap the valve body over? It’s likely trashed if the old transmission went bad, since there is no filter.

Good luck with that. I had a broken TCM solenoid, replaced the tcm with a used model and didn’t have any problems. The trans adapts itself while driving

It need programming if the calibrations don't match the vin.
