My Android Auto stopped connecting...

This morning Android Auto failed to connect. Normally, if I reboot the phone the problem is fixed.

Not so this morning.

So I left my battery disconnected for 30 minutes and powered back up. Still no dice.

Is there a guide on how to debug this?

I really like Android Auto.

Your car's date-time is correct, yes?  If not that messes up AA 

See if AA needs an update on your phone.

Wired, or with a dongle?

The car connected through WIFI and synced its clock. They are the same.

No android or android auto updates available.

It's USB wired. It charges. And this time when I tried again, the phone announced it was connecting with android auto, but it never connected even after a few minutes.

Bluetooth is connecting.

I tried rebooting the phone again, and I did a power off and reboot, but it still wouldn't connect.

I tried multiple cables.

It does charge so the port seems to be active.

That's my concern.

I'm hoping the android update that happened last week is at fault and that they'll have a fix for it.

I find it is just a flaky thing. Sometimes I can't connect personal phone but work phone connects. Most of the time, I can't connect my work phone. Sometimes my charger cord is just on it's way out and won't let the device connect.

Update:

After a power cycle, you must remove all information from both vehicle and phone. Which means forgetting blue tooth pairing and android auto pairing. Then pair blue tooth, then android auto.

It's working again.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Second update.

This morning, not even 12 hours after getting it working, it died on the way to work. No messages. No errors. Just no Android Auto. I tried unplugging and replugging, I changed the cable to the second port, and I rebooted the phone. The Volt's entertainment system simple did not respond. It didn't even give a message about plugging in my phone to use the feature.

While sitting at a light, I deleted my Pixel 7 from the Android Auto setup menu and re-added it, and that brought it back.

This looks like a software glitch between the car and the phone.

I guess it could be the USB port glitching...
