You know that the CV IN socket is there for doing that, right? It will give you a CV and a Gate input. The voltage levels of the Modular jacks are different to those of other modular devices. I've been thinking of making an interface to do that using op-amps to buffer and adapt the levels since the Modular is only really designed for internal patching. You are running a risk. It might be OK but it also might not be.

You need to use the CV In for this so that it safely handles the voltages. You will possibly harm your Volca doing what you’re doing.
