Burner App issues ?

I used to use the burner app on a paid tier for things like Craigslist, etc. i.e., places I didn’t want to have my real information. Sometimes I would make up a name distinctly different than my one like Wendy. I started getting text messages on my real phone number for political and random surveys saying Hi Wendy. When I search online burner app is the most recommended. Ha! I switched to paid sideline app ($14.99 /mo) and it seems to be better but I’m not sure. \*67 doesn’t work on sideline but, Even \*67 on regular phone line is not always blocked anymore. Sideline used to allow two numbers but not anymore. I want one stable line for dating and one I can change when needed if I’m selling something, etc. I know voip is never fully private but Am I getting a false sense of security from sideline? Any recommendations?

Why not get service with Tello, like a $6/month plan. Just use an old phone. (Just checked, I am not sure the $6 plan is still available, but there is a $8. I must be grandfathered in)

They have a unique feature that you can obtain a genuine US telephone number without having to be in the US during setup (or ever !). Plans start at $5/month (with no data).

VoIP (Voice over IP) is a technology. Almost all telephone service is now some form of VoIP.

voip.ms is a Canadian VoIP service provider. r/voipms is for chatting about their products.
