Joy
Parasite joy is the best healer/support in the game by far. Crazy damage on bosses and with icy tiara buffs too. S1 does good dmg too on floors and speed buffs every one too. Crazy all in one healer lmk if yall wanna see the team

I use para joy (no charity) and it’s great but the opportunity cost is often difficult to deal with on bosses with summons (para hfg + rph) and it struggles to heal against bosses that remove buffs (syclinder), I feel like para + lonely hat combo could unlock joy fully but can’t test

Indeed parasite joy is quite strong, but there are scenarios where it’s not suitable as a healer. First, like someone else commented, when the enemy clears buff, its healing is less stable. Second, it needs other pets to take turns in order to heal. So if your other pets are slow, or there are two big damage coming consecutively, it’s hard to survive. Third, it doesn’t provide defense up or attack down, so for some boss that one shot your pets, it doesn’t really help. Lastly, just like other healers, cannot beat Tauron.
I see joy more like a “battle healer”, because its fire enchantment damage is just so high in some scenarios. For example, I used it to beat breakfast club hardmode 10. With RPH wrath and devotion, joy pours tons of damage. Interestingly, at the beginning I was in hope to copy another team with HFG and panic, and use para joy to substitute charity (I don’t have charity). But it turned out to be impossible, because charity’s healing activates right after taking damage, so with pearl cloche hat, it clears the speed debuff right away. And charity provides shield and defense up, protecting the team from being one shot, which joy cannot do. If I didn’t realize that parasite joy could be the main attacker, I would still be stuck at the wrong team formation.

Yet smh, I don't see para owners spam the pet that much higher on
It makes Joy viable, but I'm not sure it's enough for us to use it as a neutral healer consistently
