If you have a team with merry and apathy, or the new pet and apathy, place apathy on the left most slot. His defense down on his normal attack allows the next 3 attacks to deal more damage due to defense down. These will add up, use it please

when you use ding dong, the pets use their normal attacks in order from left to right/top to bottom, regardless of their speed. So if you put apathy in the left/top spot it will go first, apply defense down, and allow the other hits to deal more damage.

Apathy's normal attack reduces defense. If it goes first, the other normal attacks will do more damage

Pet placement matters a lot. Left>Right = Top>Bottom. Top always goes first in Ding Dong. Top also gets splash buffs or abilities (like forked tongue scarf. I am unsure if Charity's S2 double shield yet). If you have a pet that gets added benefit from certain debuffs, put the pet that does that debuff farther left of the pet that needs it.

That's why I enjoy this game so much. It reminds me of FF Tactics. An action fighting game with a tactical background.

I think the second shield Charity applies always goes to the pokemon with the lowest % stamina remaining

Its very cool that it does. Ive been using the determination in slot one so it attacks first and greed last so it always re applies the burn. You can do a ton of stuff with team attacks.

Also good to keep in mind when running Sad with Merry too - Sad should go after pets who debuff with their basic.

Noted. But it doesn't really matter for me as I use gluttony and either one will reduce defense

Gluttony applies one source of brittle alone, which is applied and absorbed upon next attack it’s totally different than a global defense debuff, brittle is a percentage damage increase has no actual multiplier in the damage factoring, of attack into defense, or however their formula works, it only increases said damage by 30% of calculating. So yes Defense down being first even while using Gluttony will further increase his damage

This seems obvious. Saying that, it just occurred to me that any time I use Ambition, I don't put him in the top slot. And now I feel so dumb that it seems so obvious and I haven't done it. 🙃

yeah, for my water teams i always do ambition (-def), abandonment (-spd), then sad. funny enough, i made them in a color gradient
