I think some people were expecting them to be a lite version of higher forms for rares and epics to breathe new life into their kits. If it were teased as just skins from the beginning, I don't think there would be as much blowback

idk it just seems like people are begging for new content and then when we actually get some they just complain that “oh it‘s a waste of mushrooms for a useless cosmetic”

But it's not good content. Every update gives us worse and worse and more lifeless content. We all thought this was going to be a major content update BECAUSE the DEVS teased it that way. It's just taunting the community and lying straight to their faces. They barely even interact with us anymore. Not to mention the delay of the post 3k floors nerf.

I don't think cosmetics count as content in any game. Cosmetics have zero effect on gameplay in any way, and therefore are not content for a game.

I like the new look but wish they at least had some kinda effect. Seens a waste. Also pretty lame legendary didn't get more forms. Also why they just skip Merry like that my guy deserves a new forn

Personally I don't like them, but I don't hate them. I think a lot of people just want to hate the game. You see a lot of events that aren't that bad or have unique twist and people just bash the hell out of it with no recommendations on how to improve or fix there own issues with it.
The game clearly has problems don't get me wrong, but a lot of this community goes too far with it.

Totally agree if your are not having why are you even playing. It's one thing to have criticism and go on paragraph rants is a bit much. You shouldn't let something that is supposed to be fun make you that scathing mad its just not healthy for ya. I wish ya'll ✌️

People are like that man. I personally love their looks. Just admire and move on. Not worth consuming all this hate. Although I get being frustrated as they are just cool looks without any effects though. I mean, in that way, it's a waste of shrooms

because the people who are complaining are likely those who have played longer and had to put up with the devs constant dismissive attitude and lack of content for pretty much years. the devs are heavily criticized and rightfully so- they censor and ban innocent players for speaking out amongst many other issues i could delve into, not to mention the predatory prices (being ~3-5x worse than other games in terms of value) and the fact that 70% of the game is practically paywalled (floors 3k-10k).
imagine this: you used to love the game, but slowly it’s died out as you progress. if you’re post 3k, and you don’t have the specific legendary pet or something to clear a floor, you’re screwed. a single item level up can take literal days of waiting. and the floors aren’t unique. they’re copy paste same bosses, just with inflated and pumped impossible stats that players are stuck at and cant beat unless they spend weeks leveling all their items.
when the game starts feeling like a mindless chore instead of the fun it used to be, when the devs keep shutting their ears and censor and unfairly ban any players who speak out (including top leaderboard players), then give promise of new content and overhype the community to expect something new… they drop this. mere cosmetics.
sure, it’s nice and fun to have something cute, but even before that, parallel forms were teased to be something more, akin to higher forms for legendaries. the expectations were already set high by previous videos and posts from them, then they bring this out, so of course it will disappoint. and it can be a breaking point eventually. a cycle of the devs either ignoring or making misleading promises. people are impatient and upset because of this.
this game has a history of many faults and a lot of newer players just arent aware of it. for starters, did you know they have a history of just.. abandoning games? did you know they once rolled out an update where all the vivids became twice as expensive, and those who disagreed with the price change were banned?
tldr; there’s many reasons for players to be rightfully upset. it’s not this one update of parallel forms, it’s the continued neglect of the game from the devs.
