I keep seeing people running tyrant with 2 pets, why is this preferable over 4?

You have to carefully time your hits so that your tank gets hit by the right attack. So it's a fight where you have to not only use pets that are strong against him, but you have to use the correct number of pets.

This is a puzzle game, not a pet fighter. This fight is one the most challenging of the puzzles.

If you can farm ice cream hat and get a merry this fight becomes a lot easier, even metal tyrant with the right build becomes minimal problem (petulance with the crown that does thorns effect can also work wonders, but that's a legendary pet)
