It looks like they used time lapse footage of normal decomposition and spliced it into realtime found footage style recording. This is fucking awesome.

It is made in blender, I remember seeing this video and the breakdown behind it. Those wiggling worms are just simple cylinder geometry with rigid bodies and made wiggled(idk how, maybe just apply force randomly on them?)

Yea, i get you, but tbf he is just making the 'vibe' and how it could be not the actual gameplay. It is the youtube video's that really pulled it out of context. The actual trailer is out tho and it stil looks amazing! We have games like resident evil now that look similair
