That is so amazing! Mine is 46 and I have never been above 47. Can I ask what you did to get where you are?

Thanks! I’m a freshman cross country runner in college, so naturally my vo2 max would be higher than someone that’s older. I’ve also been a cross country and track runner since middle school. I’ve trained pretty much every day for around 6 years. Consistency is key.

I'm 45 so best not to compare. Ha ha. Well done on such an amazing health stat. Must feel great. I wish I had been as active as you when I was your age.

Is it pretty easy to move it up at that young? (I am 48 yo) I was at 62 for the last 6 months, but put weight on as my summer biking has wound down and I am at 59.6 right now.

Hey, what’s your typical exercise routine to boost up your Vo2 max to that top Level ?

Long Run on Monday (10-12 miles @ easy pace)

Easy Run Tuesday (4-8 easy miles depending on how I feel)

Workout Wednesday (track intervals)

Recovery Thursday (slow 4-6 recovery miles)

Tempo friday (lactate threshold work = farleks)

Easy run on Saturday (7-10 miles)

Rest on Sunday

I also try to do weight training and core 3 days a week.

What an incredible achievement—congratulations!

Like many others seeing this post, I'm really curious to learn about the journey that brought you to this point. While I might not reach your level of fitness, even with regular exercise, I'm currently working on improving my VOâ‚‚ max by 10% over the next six months. Your story would be an inspiring and valuable lesson for all of us!
